Dear SY devotees,

Love is in simple interactions with people. A loving look in the
eyes, a warm hug, holding of hands, a hand on the back, a warm smile,
words of love - all contain the essence of life. Bhastrika or
meditation to find God distracts me from love. I don't need to do
hatha yoga or chant either. Do I have to work my butt off believing
I'm doing it for my sadhana? If I do meditate, it's in a natural
moment of love. I rather not do anything forceful like I have been in
SY for the past 10 years.

What I'm about to say may shock you but I feel it's necessary to tell
you the truth even though it may not look like it. It may shake your
belief system so much that you'll block it out and deny it exists.
You may have heard about this already and have mentally fought it with
reasoning that allows you to continue living in the ashram. Once you
understand what I'll be telling you, you won't want to live in the
ashram - or that's what happened to me anyway when I heard it.

I am very wary of any religion because of SY. My enlightenment is
natural - no religion. It's good to know the truth than to live a lie
- neither Baba or Gurumayi are enlightened. The ex-cult AOL archives
on LeavingSiddhaYoga.org plainly show the actions of Baba and Gurumayi
behind the scenes. They weren't the most pure people. Baba had sex
with underage women for years. He had a special table built for this
obsession. His tours and house locations were situated where he had
easy access to young girls. He went to Oakland for long periods for
its reputation of having the best young girls. Many swamis knew about
this. They still do. Gurumayi is no saint. The night before she was
to say her vows she slept with George Afif according to her close
assistant and other witnesses. They were lovers. What convinced me
to leave SY was when I read the story of a rape victim in her own
words asking Gurumayi for help. She was raped by an ashram VIP which
has happened many times but secretly covered up since VIP's give
Gurumayi lots of money. She was only 13! Gurumayi told her it was
her own fault and to forget about it - not even to speak to her
parents about it. This isn't India and denying rape shouldn't be
tolerated here. George was allowed to do what he wanted with the
young girls in the ashram. He was charged with statutory rape during
his reign of the ashram big dig project. Then there's the fact that
Gurumayi had her face lifted. Would a monk be concerned about her
face to spend tons of donated money to change it to a more glamorous
look? The head of SY is a crook. It's all a lie - she's pretending
to be a saint. It may be very hard to recognize these facts. Here's
another: old staff members are cast aside for the relatives to take
care of. SY is more concerned with free labor and how much money one
has. The future looks pretty dim for any staff person in SY. I was
on staff for several years - the benefits and retirement plan are
pitiful!

Gurumayi married lots of people. Most of them are divorced. It's
very easy to be a match maker. Gurumayi is just a powerful psychic
like shamans and medicine men. She is not enlightened and cannot take
you across.

I was very devoted to SY. Once I knew that I was following crooks
pretending to be saints, I left. I have been brought up to be honest
and follow honest people. The minute I read Gurumayi was dishonest, I
left SY. Thank God for Pendragon's website. Whenever I'm interested
in any religion, I first check the internet and research the religion
to make sure its clean.

I was very lonely and confused when I heard what I've told you above.
My heart was breaking. My belief system shattered. My whole life for
10 years was a lie. I felt horrible. Such great betrayal of one's
love causes much pain. I feel I have gone through this dark period
and have faced the truth to feel much stronger and more at peace with
myself. I invite you to do the same.

Much love,
Eric

The following was quickly brought to my attention by a well known
source to be more accurate than my preceding post:

GM was seen to be in Afif's cottage the night before her sannyas
ceremony, and it appeared she had stayed the night. No one saw them
having sex, or no one has reported seeing it. I know someone who
reported seeing their dirty laundry thrown together down the laundry
chute, but even that doesn't quite prove sexual relations between
them. However, many old timers have spoken of their knowledge of an
affair between GM and Afif, before her sannyas ceremony, and it is not
clear from evidence that I know of if that affair continued
afterwards.

Afif pled no contest to statutory rape in Oakland in the early 80s.
His partner was a 16 year old girl who apparently had consented to his
seduction, though at 16 "consent" is dubious.

In the story I have told about someone I know, he sexually harrassed a
20 year old woman, and when she asked for GM's help, GM's response was
to tell her to never tell her mother and to blame the girl.

Afif sexually harrassed younger girls, some of whose parents
complained to GM. GM's response was don't say anything about it to
anyone, you'll just take on George's bad karma.

The above is accurate, and your messages conveyed some inaccuracies.
I think this is important because the point of a list like this is not
to create more lies, but to tell the truth.

True, its not just moderation that counts. Its being able to discern right
time, place and circumstance.
Then, open those floodgates man for nothing but Divine Will can stem the flow
of life looking to procreate.
