Hi everyone!

Well I've been on the Lupron for a month now (two weeks into the second shot)
and still having problems. The first two weeks I had severe pain and bleeding
and migranes. My question is does the injections work all at once or do they
continue to fluctuate with your cycle?

I ask this because, I have noticed I do not hurt continious but fluctuates
during the time in between the injections. When I'm not hurting I have a
migrane (one of those period migranes). Yes I know migranes are side effects,
but it fluctuates also as if my ovaries are still functioning. It has been two
weeks into the second shot I sure thought production would have stopped by now.
But I'm still bleeding, still having migranes, still hurting (severe most of
the time) and now twice I've had bad nose bleeds. The nose bleeds are from a
simple sneeze but lasts up to 30 minutes.

Has anyone else these problems with Lupron.

love
linda

Dear Linda,

I had those problems too--but no nose bleeds though.

Sometimes Lupron takes up to three months to work--after the third month I gave
up--I bled more on Lupron than off.

The migraines got hard to handel too.

Love hugs and kisses,

Jenny :P

Hi Linda,
I didn't have those problems, I am apparently one of the few who is tolerating
lupron well.
However, I have had fluctuations in my side effects. My doctor said it is
really closer to the third and after the third that things settle down, I don't
know how scientific his statement was I think it's more from his experience.
I did have some pains a few weeks ago and he said I could have ovulated. I'm on
my third shot now and haven't felt that since I got the shot.
You should (if you don't already) write each symptom/side effect on a calendar
so you and your doc can track this. And please speak to him about the
nosebleeds and make sure nothing else is going on (sinusitis, etc).
Good luck,

Hi there Linda,
I am so sorry you are having these probs with Lupron. I hate to say it but I had
some of the same probs. I hate Lupron. If I had known what I was getting into I
wouldnt have taken it. I know some people in this group love this drug but I hate
it. Go ahead and flame me if you must but I know what this woman is going
through..
I had to go to a neroligist (sp) for the migrines. I was put on Imitrex shots that
I did at home for them and they did help but I spent many a day and night in the ER
to deal with them too. I also had a bad like rash so I had to go to a
dermatologist (sp) for that due to the lupron. I was sick all the time and the
pain never did go away and neithr did all of the bleeding I bleed and spotted the
whole 6 horrible months I was on this stuff. I wish you much more luck than I had.
If you want to talk let me know
Hugs
Mary P.

HI! I know how you feel. I had the same problems with the lupron along with
hot flashes. Its not fun but after the first few injections I did notice a
difference. Just understand that all this that your going through still will
not cure the disease.
I have had two surgeries been on lupron for 6 months and now I take an oral
contraceptive all month long so I do mensruate. There are no more side effects
than just taking the pill and if your young you can do it for a couple of
years. It is the best way I have found to control the disease.
