Does anybody have any experience - good or bad - with Baclofen treatment
for ITD? At what dose did the mediine start to have effect?

One of the ways docs have begun to get around the side effect problem
[Baclofen have a very strong depressing effect on the CNS] is to use
intrathecal baclofen which can get the same results at much lower
dosages. Intrathecal baclofen goes straight to the brain w/o the blood
and/or the digestive systems weakening the effect. This is done by
implanting a small pump in the abdimon area and having a catheter
inside the body lead straight up to the target area. The drug goes from
the pump to the base of the brain with no intervening body function.

I take 10 mg baclofen orally for torticollis. I also take 1 mg of
klonopin. I find the combination to be more effective than either one by
itself. At these low dosages I am able to function well and still get some
relief, probably more so than from Botox, which I've had little success
with.
