Need male participants for a dissertation study on male victims of dating violence

My name is Kathleen Kline and I am a Licensed Independent Social
Worker and doctoral candidate in the School of Psychology at Walden
University. For my dissertation, I am conducting a study on male and
female victims of dating violence in both heterosexual and same-sex
relationships among college students under the supervision of my
faculty chair, Matthew Geyer, PsyD. My dissertation research was
inspired by the lack of research among male victims of dating violence
and the need to create an awareness that men in dating relationships
also experience acts of dating violence by their partner. This study
was approved by the Walden University IRB board (Approval #
05-19-08-0283304).
Currently, I am in need of male participants in both heterosexual and
same-sex relationships who are aged 18-25 years old, attend college or
a university, are in or have been in a dating relationship, and have
experienced at least one incident of physical, psychological, and/or
sexual abuse or violence to complete my study. However, women in
heterosexual or same-sex dating relationships who meet these criteria
are also welcome to participate.

the survey. No one, including this researcher will be able to
identify any information about you with your response. The survey will
take approximately 25 minutes of your time. Please Note: While this
study is voluntary and you may exit the survey at anytime, the survey
must be completed in full (all four of the questionnaires completed)
for your response to count in the results of the study. Once you exit
the survey, you will not be able to re-enter it.

Your participation in this study is greatly appreciated. By
participating in this study, you may gain valuable insights into
yourself and/or your dating relationship. Your participation will
also expand research in the field of psychology which will create an
awareness that men also experience acts of abuse or violence by their
dating partner. The results of this research will promote social
change in the development and design of intervention or resources to
assist those in a similar situation who might not otherwise seek help.
