I have these problems when I try to nap during the day, it also happens
during the night sometimes, but mainly a day time phenomena
(Why u ask - do I sleep during the day, I feel very sleepy.)
These are the sequences of events:
Frist
1. Feeling sleepy,
2. Start to doze
3. Muscle spasms in my throat (not always30% of the time)
4. Pounding of heart, skipped jumping beats (not always- 30% of the time)
5. sometimes involuntary jerks or hands or a leg (my doc called it
myoclonus) or an abrupt closure of something in my throat (this will cause a
gasp) (50% of the time)
6. then Deep breathing and deep exhales (100% of the time)
7. Flushing feeling in my upper body accompanies deep breathing event about
75% of the time
7. Wide awake feeling (done necessarily open my eyes)...(100% of the time)
8. In a few seconds feel sleepy again and cycle starts to repeat.
IT GOES AWAY COMPLETELY WHEN I AM AWAKE
I dont always have muscle spasms and pounding of heart- absent. Especially
when I wake up. I only experience these deep breathing fits. But I am NOT
anxious or panicky or anything of that sort.

wondering if it is possible that you sleep very lightly in daytime and therefore
feel it more then at nights? Anyway, based on what you describe, I would
certainly look into sleep apnea, and get a sleep study done ( a proper one! in
an accredited sleep lab).
I have Lyme neuroborreliosis and have all your symptoms (my ma has
Hashimoto's).
Kezzi. . .
When I stopped, the sleep disturbances stopped.

In an attempt to treat a chronic pain condition I was started on imipramine,
and it caused all the symptoms you listed. Are you taking any medications
regularly that you can stop for a while to see if they are contributing?

Looking for Mr. Kennedy
(And Not Finding Him)
The first anti-Kennedy book in this brood, although not quite a
perfect fit into the genre, is The Search for JFK, by Joan and
Clay Blair Jr. The book appeared in 1976, right after Watergate
and the Church Committee hearings. In the book's foreword, the
authors are frank about what instigated their work:
During Watergate (which revealed to us the real character of
President Richard M. Nixon-as opposed to the manufactured
Madison Avenue image), our thoughts turned to Jack
Kennedy....Like other journalists, we were captivated by
what was then called the "Kennedy mystique" and the
excitement of "the New Frontier." Now we began to wonder.
Behind the image, what was Jack really like? Could one,
