I stayed the same this week, despite losing 3.5 pounds the week
before. I was a bit disappointed because I was really good last
week and expected another weight loss, even if it was only a
pound. I'm posting this because I can feel myself sliding into
the
"I-may-as-well-have-this-chocolate-biscuit-because-it-makes-no-di
fference-to-my-weight-if-I-try-hard-to-stay-on-the-plan" mood.

*grabbing onto Tricia before she can slide* Nooooooo! Don't do it! Don't
reach for that chocolate biscuit! :)

It's just a sad fact of life that we don't lose every week, even when we've
been really, really good. I've been through this so many times, and you
simply have to stick with it. In fact, I just went two weeks without losing
a pound, but this morning the number finally nudged downward, just a notch,
but it was a pound better than last week, so I'm a happy girl. (Which
reminds me I forgot to send Carol the new weigh-in; will do that right now.)

So hang in there, Tricia. There can be so many, many reasons we don't lose
from week to week. But the chocolate biscuit isn't the answer, which you
already know. :)

Good luck for a better weigh-in next week!

Resist, Tricia, resist!

Try not to think about your progress week to week, but think of it in the
long term. If you average your weight loss over a month, and you lost 3.5
last week, nothing this week, 1 lb. next week, and nothing the week after -
that still averages to over a pound a week. Taken week by week, it's going
to feel like very little. In the long run, it makes a big difference.

Don't give up because of one disappointing week. Is it worth it after losing
24 lbs.? No way! It'll happen, just be patient. :)

Cheers,
Petal

Thank you for that thought. I know I'm being unreasonably
impatient, but the weight loss seems to be very, very slow at
times. My WW leader seemed to be happy that I maintained last
week's weight loss.
The weather is terrible in Wales at the moment - gale force winds
and torrential rain - and I think that makes me hungrier than
usual as well.

as my leader is fond of pointing out, bodies sometimes take a week to catch
up with themselves. After a largeish loss, they'll stay the same just to
make sure that they keep that weight off. In the end - it averages out.
Hard truth in the middle of that particular week I know ;-)

I don't expect 3.5 pounds off every week, but I put quite a bit
of weight on over Christmas, so I have a lot of catching up to
do. :-/

Hi Tricia!

I thought I would join your thread as I too have stayed the same this week,
after a 3 lb loss last week! and I did have some chocolate (but i counted
it ~lol~)
Heres to a loss next week for the both of us!

just noticed in your sig that you are in Wales! Are you anywhere near
Aberystwyth by any chance? thats where I was born. ~s~

I've just hopped on the scales - doesn't look as if I'm losing
any weight - so I don't hold out much hope for the weigh-in this
coming Wednesday. :-(
I'm living in Carmarthen, but my ancestors (on mymother's side)
came from Llanilar, near Aberystwyth. As I've been brought up in
all sorts of places, wherever my father was stationed (he was a
Royal Marine) I've ended up with a West London accent, which
classifies me as "English" as far as the locals are concerned!
