I just wanted to share with everyone that I finally have gotten back on
program. Although I have not stopped going to meetings, I had fallen off
the wagon of watching what I eat and journaling. This past week, I
journaled for 6 days straight, and used all my Target Points and all my Flex
Points and had a loss of 6.4 lbs this week. I realize this is like the
first week loss for many people, but I have been going to meetings since
December 2000 and rarely miss a meeting. I lost over 40lbs and then kind of
just stopped following program, but I knew if I quit all together, I would
have gained all of that back and then some. I did end up gaining about 20
lbs. But I am not back on track and losing again.

Thank you all for all your inspiration.

Debbie

Wow, that's fantastic Debbie! Good for you for never giving up, even if things
weren't going according to your original plan. You'll never fail if you never
quit! Congrats on stepping back into the program and finding that refocus point.
I wish you lots of luck!

hey, don't I remember you from the acbb newsgroup?

Hi Debbie,

Way to go for continuing the meetings even though you weren't on program.
I'm really glad that you have refocused and are losing again. Congrats.

Hey Joyce,

Yes, I have been on acbb for years, since 1998 I think it is. Still read
the posts all the time. Goman and all of his blabbering. LOL he can be
entertaining at times and other times, he just grates on my nerves. I think
it is funny how the new people come on and blast him as a Troll, when he is
just our resident wise A$$.

Ya gotta know Goman to love him. I actually did have the priveledge of meeting
him in person - he only lives an hour or so from me. Don't tell him I said this,
will only embarrass him ... he is a real sweetie. Not at all like he comes across
on the newsgroup. He is very shy, very quiet and softspoken, has a heart of gold.
Surprise, huh? I still lurk on acbb, can easily stay caught up by checking in
once a week or so.

Joyce, do you remember when there were hundreds of posts a day there? Now
you are lucky to have a hundred a week and most of them are of his drivel.
You are lucky to have met him, did you meet Bret too. Bret is such a
sweetie. I have not had the privilege of meeting him, but we have talked on
the phone a few times, to arrange a trade/purchase. He was always so great
at finding the ones I wanted and could not find. Although I am cured now
and only buy on the rare occasion that I really like one of those silly
little stuffed toys.

Oh boy do I remember those days. It would take me hours just to read the posts,
think it was nothing to sit down in an evening to over 500 ... maybe more. And
most all were topic oriented! LOL I haven't had the pleasure of meeting Bret,
but George keeps threatening that all of us are going to meet up soon. I have met
Pat, even had her show up on my doorstep last winter. She is a REAL sweetie!
Along with a few others from the greater Chicago area. I did a house cleaning
last year and donated bags of the critters, guess I am cured now also. Now it's
only something I adore, which is pretty rare since they appear to be duplications.
And I only purchase what I find at my grocery store.

Yippee. I guess the best advice is to NEVER quit quitting. Great loss this
week.

Hey I just discovered you 're actually talking about Beanie babies! You now
this might sound pretty silly, but every time I visit the US (not that often
alas) I bring a beanie baby back as a souvenir. I just have 6 of them, but I
think they 're cute, and you can't find them in Europe, so they 're
actually pretty special for me!

Nathalie,

They are readily available in the UK, I bought a bunch there back in 1997
and 1998 when I first started collecting them. I now have over 200 and have
donated a bunch to different organizations and also to the local hospital
children's ward.

Ah, OK, since the UK is not really far, I might pop over and treat myself to
one :-)

Doesn't sound silly at all - you wouldn't believe how many of these things I once
had. My kids started on the beanies before they became popular. Ty is only a few
miles from our house, he used to bring the items himself to our local Hallmark
store and ask if they would give him shelf space to see if there would be a market
for them. Last year we donated several bags, now only have those that are dearest
to us (mostly the bears). If you are looking for anything in particular - I'd be
glad to pick up and mail to you.
