If I understand you correctly: When my insulin vial is down to the
'dregs', I just insert as much of the point (insert it as usual and
then pull it back) into the seal that's necessary to make contact with
the inside of the vial, rather than pushing it all the way in. This
way, my discarded vials have only about 10 cc's, at most, remaining in
them. Since there's only one route through which to draw the insulin
out of the vial, I can't think of any way other than the one I use.
