SUPPORT OUR TROOPS.
END THE WAR NOW.
BRING THEM HOME.
Americans killed in the occupation of Iraq as of September 22, 2007 is 3,798.
United Kingdom = 170 Other = 130.
How many more Americans must die to satisfy Bush's ego?
Let us all pray for Bush - God knows he needs it!
As of September 24, 2007 it has been 1608 days since Bush
while standing in front of the banner which was sent
to the ship by the White House saying MISSION ACCOMPLISHED
declared,"In the Battle of Iraq, the United States and our
allies have prevailed." IOW MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.
Isn't Bush's "surge" of troops working well?
Pay attention to the frequency of American deaths since it began.

Thanks Loretta,
Yes I felt wonderful and shocked at the same time. Thanks for your kind
words. You are right...one meal at a time. Then I can go for the one day at
a time.
Thanks Tani :-) Yeah I can do it and hope to keep on keeping on LOL. Thanks
again.
Thanks Cheri :-) I sure do intend to try for sure. Thanks for your support.
I appreciate it and you.
Thank you my friend. Thanks for asking me back here. It always did help me
try harder when I was here.
Reisa helped a great deal with a sample menu for foods I like so I can't
take all the credit.
Congrats!!!
That's fantastic news!

Diana, when I was home recovering from my heart attack...falling into
a depression, I read "How to stop worrying and live life" or something
like that by Dale Carnegie. Now this is a very old book, written in
the 1940s but I was astonished how relevant it was for today and it
helped me as much or more than the multitude of other books I read.
One of the basic tenets of the book was living just for today...in the
moment. He called it having day-tight containers. This is how I
approach things now. I have given up on worry and on dwelling on
things. You are approaching this the right way. One meal at a time,
then one day at a time. Stop there. Don't worry about next week or
next month. If you live today right, tomorrow will take care of
itself.

I have A1c's of around 4.8, my daytime bg's rarely move above low 5's yet my

Nice going, Frank! I assume you've beaten your pp figures into
submission also?
If you decide to go for the band op, having tightly controlled bg
figures will make recovery much safer.
What's my pp figures & how did you find out I'm having problems with them ?
I'm leaning away from the band op ATM.... Not only it scares me at my age,
(I have to think of my family & what would happen if I stayed on the table)
but I want time with my family to share lots of pleasures with them.
I think I am, sensibly, a little scared of this op.
I'd also like to hear what experiences others have had ...

It's wise for us older folk to be a little cautious of operations
involving general anaesthetic. Not only is there a higher risk of
something going seriously wrong, there is also a higher risk of minor
cognitive damage. Old brains aren't quite so resilient about being
poisoned for an hour or so.

Here is the forum for that particular procedure and you can read others
comments.
You can also search for a surgeon there among other things.
My doctor is really pressing me for the lap band.
I wish you the very very best in all things.

You know Frank when I came here in 1999 this group literally saved my life.
My doctor surprised me when she told me I had diabetes as I was only there
to establish being a new patient because my doctor went into Nephrology
only.
She handed me a 1200 calorie menu and never once told me what diabetes
entailed. The diet, the life changes nor did she refer me to anyone.
I was pretty new to the internet upon finding this group and had it not been
for them I could not be here now. These posters are my extended friends and
family. I only met a couple in person and it was worth everything to me.
I am glad you are here but not why you had to come. We can do this together
and achieve goals we didn't know we had in us. :-)
Now though it is years later I hope to catch up with you and the ones I met
upon coming to this number 1 group on the internet.
I have every faith in you that your goals will be met and kept.

Post-prandial - i.e. after meals. Because I'm psychic :D

Yah, it sounds scary to me too. OTOH, so does staying obese... I'm
very glad I don't have to make the decision. Whichever way you go,
I'll cheer for you...
For me, the obesity melted away on a low spike diet. It's always my
hope that the same will happen with other people.
