The answer will vary depending on who you ask. I've had Drs. tell me diet
soda is the same as water. Others will tell me to drink it in addition to
water and still others tell me to avoid it because of the sweetener used.
I don't know what kind of Kool Aid you bought. The stuff I've seen in the
pouches does have a few carbs, I think. I could be wrong. Maybe it is just
the calories I saw. I don't like drinking stuff with calories. I might
have a serving in a day but no more.

Yes, it's safe to drink. Sugar free Jello is also safe to eat as are
sugarless popsicles.
I wouldnt drink it since its artificial *everything*.
Green Tea will "flavor" your water and provide a bunch of antioxidants.
New research on green tea looks like it helps diabetics.
G00gle it yourself :)

: I just read a summary of an research article on rats which concluded
: that saccarin (sp?) added to intake of rats caused them to be more
: hungry and eat more, something to do with alerting the body to a sugar
: rise when none if forthcoming.
: As a result of that study and from my own experience with kool aide non
: sugar, I have stopped consuming any artificial sweeteners and also
: because they Do seem to make me more hungry and eat more. Also there are
: numerous posts on the net of negative side effects from these chemicals,
: including activation of dormant herpes simplex virus and subsequent skin
: outbreaks.
: Bottom line is you will get no calories, but there may be other negative
: effects.
I have b een drinking sugar-free baverages for donkey's years and have no
apparaant side effects. They do not seem to make me hungrier. I find
them useful when thirsty and when i want a snack between meals. Unless I
am out at a fast food place when stopping on the highway, I generally
don't take them with meals, but prefer water. Just my choice.
Anything to excess can be a problem, but as Alan sys"Moderation in
everything except laughter."

Must be my sense of humour, but does it matter if the kool aid contains
sugar?
All I can think of it Jim Jones and followers***.
*** A cult that in the 70's(?) committed mass suicide by drinking
poisoned kool aid.
