Spent the last several days doing what everyone else wanted, and decided to
give myself three or four hours today to do what I wanted. Went to my MIL's
house, where I fixed her backyard security light, and her front porch light,
and installed a surge protector on the outlet for her microwave. Then came
home and pulled the small calulator out of the mailbox that I ordered off of
eBay a couple days ago, and set down to effect a modification I have been
wanting to do for a while, but hadn't worked up the nerve to try until now.
Used my Dremel moto-tool to cut a square hole in its back, where I installed
a trimmed down AAA battery holder that I hooked up to run the device instead
of the teeny-tiny batteries that I keep having to replace at about eight
bucks a pop. It now runs on AAAs, which I can get anywhere, and which ought
to last damn near forever. Taped over the hole in the back, where you could
see the batteries coming out even with the back cover surface, with duct
tape, which is fine with me, at least for now. I no longer have to worry
about the batteries running down, and can use it and carry it with impunity.
Thinking about doing the same with my big calculator, which is a lot more
expensive. Trying this with a $10.00 calculator that I bought for $6.00 is
one thing... We'll see.

Okay, now if I could just find that piece of paper I have been looking for.

Hope all are doing okay. Kind thoughts...

Thank you, Sphinx. I'm glad to know that I'm not just wasting bandwidth.

I've got a solor powered calculator of the same type, but it got dropped at
some point and doesn't always display properly. Been trying to fix it for a
while, but just keep it by my workshop now for use there. Because it
doesn't have a constant power source it likewise doesn't have reliable
memory. When the lights go out it forgets. So it is a scratch pad for use
when I am needing to recalculate some resistor value or whatever.

Kind thoughts, to whoever...

Just finished installing the extra fitting to my A/C drip line that will let
me add bleachwater to the drip pan so it will clean out the whole drip line.
Installed a fitting that will let me flush the bottom portion out with a
garden hose a couple weeks ago, but the top portion was still narly blocked
with whatever grows in those lines. Now I'll get the whole line clean.
YES!

I love being productive and getting things done.
