|
| I have a confession to make: I used to love that show & a few others,
| very few.
|
| When I moved I decided that my budget was too tight, I had to choose
| between 'basic' cable service or my ISP.
|
| I live in one of the most densely populated municipalities between New
| York & Chicago. I'm told that the reason that 'broadcast' television
| reception is so bad in this area has something to do with that. I don't
| know. I don't care. I can only get one channel in clearly.
|
| I don't watch television any more--one more thing that sets me apart
| from people, but I spend a lot of the time that I used to spend watching
| TV reading.
|
| Once you've recovered from the withdrawal effects of TV Deprivation
| Syndrome you happen to look at a television in somebody's house & you
| wonder how they can put up with all of the bullshit. What stood out most
| for me, looking at the bullshit, was the constant hyperstimulation.
|
| I can't emphasize enough the importance of avoiding sensory
| hyperstimulation if you happen to be blessed with manic-depression.
|
| I've got some bad news: everything about _TV_is_stupefying_. Perhaps the
| nature of Television Culture evolved as a marketing strategy that
| got out of control, more than likely an instance of 'events conspiring'
| than the result of some person's meddling. It's too brilliant an idea
| for somebody in advertising, for any person, to have come up with, it
| simply evolved.
|
| People who've been stupefied are almost ideal Consumers. Baby sees, baby
| wants, baby gets what baby wants.
|
| Forget about it. There actually is a world out here, outside the walls
| of Television Culture, & it's so very interesting.

Blasphemer! I am an SG-1 addict. SG-1 has got to be the coolest scifi
tv show ever! Here in the U.S. we're waiting for the next season to
begin; on Monday nights the SciFi channel shows reruns from the beginning
to season 5 (I think) and on Friday night there is either a new episode
or a rerun from the current season. Season 6 is still in syndication
and I catch those episodes on the Fox channel. How dare you call SG-1
lame! Which episode did you see?

Yeah, I loooved the Borg! It was an awesome concept, was it not? Q was
alright, I sometimes found him amusing, sometimes interesting; but,
often times annoying as well. The Data character, though, I really
liked. Couldn't get enough of Data.
Did you watch Voyager?
Hehe yeah Janeaway was pretty cool herself; she had style. ;) A lot of
trekies were up-in-arms about Janeaway getting promoted to Admiral
before Picard; really I don't see what the big deal was; but then
trekies didn't like Voyager... I loved it.
Seven was cool, too; (and hot!) and I liked it for all the encounters
with the Borg it had.

:) lolz.. Yeah, I've got a bunch of system-event wavs of Jeri Ryan.
(Seven of Nine) For instance - when I receive an email she says "We're
recieving an incoming transmistion--origin, the Alpha quadrant," when I
make an error she says "I would like to talk with you." Heheh..
I'll give 'em to ya, if you want. ;)
uh-oh robert will get all excited hehehee ;-)

I love all the Star Trek series, but I don't get UPN so I've missed
most of Voyager and Enterprise. I loved DS9 but for some reason
they won't syndicate it on SciFi or Spike or whatever. UPN
syndicated "7 Days" to Spike, so why not Voyager?
How's it hangin'?
Good to see ya back in asdm here.
