Hi all,

New to the group. :)

I'm not a bi-polar myself but my father is.

I received a call from my father today and it sounds like he may be on the
upswing.

I asked if he had be taking his meds and he said, 'No, I've been taking
vitamins'.

Now, I'm no expert on this subject (not even close; I'm sure there tons of
people in this group that would put me to shame quite quickly) but I really
don't believe vitamins are a complete substitute for meds, even if they're
GOOD vitamins...

Any thoughts?

(This is a cross-post with alt.support.depression.manic.moderated)

Thx in advance,

Jeff

Hi and Welcome to the ng.

No, vitamins are not a substitute for meds although they can be a
hekpful adjunct like Flaxseed Oil which is used in BP Disorder.

Peace,
