Among other things i have hard to treat bipolar 2, so i take three (well
four if you count the amytriptiline i take for sleep) drugs for
depression....i've been on effexor twice...on its own it stopped working for
me altogether after a period but i experienced no withdrawal.
I switched in the opposite direction from you from serezone to remeron, we
had me on both for a while then dropped the serezone. serezone doenstn' work
all that well, i got much better results with theh remeron although YMMV.
Anyway the point is that i also take effexor and wellbutrin. Dosages haven't
been lowered lately we are working on getting rid of other drugs.
I can tell you that getting of an AD can cause wierd effects somtimes. When
they were taking me off imipramine i started to get horrible migraines below
50 mg (a dose which is well below the minimum 100 i needed for it to work AT
ALL. It seems that imipramine reduces migraines (likely since they have
found amytriptilyne does and they are very similar). I had a fair number of
migraines that reduced when i started taking the medication and they assumed
they were just coming back....
...is there any way you can do the switch slower or see if it is something
like the above...i know some dr's don't like multiple AD's, since i HAVE to
take 3 (with currently avalable meds maybe something new will come out
sometime) i know it is possible to take some of them in combo
