tanning on prednisone

just curios if anyone knows if it is okay to tan in tanning bed while on
prednisone...i tan because the heat from the bed seems to really relax
my stomach,but now that i have to go back on prednisone i wonder if it
is safe..i also know tanning is not really safe, but give me a little
pleasure in my so called life!!!thanx for your
input.

hi-i am not sure about the tanning-although i have before-didnt seem to effect
anything-i also agree tanning cant be any worse than the prednisone can-we have
to take a little pleasure in life when we find it as long as we are not hurting
anyone in the process

All I have to say is "be careful." I went on vacation once while on
prednisone and stayed out in the sun for ages. As time went on, much later
that evening, my skin blew up and blistered. Prednisone blocks inflammation
so your body can't tell you properly how you react to something immediately
(if that makes sense). I'm rather pale and should have know better!

i love tanning both in a tanning bed and in natural sun.......it does
wonders for mild depression......

Prednisone changed the texture and oiliness of my skin (I'm usually very
dry-skinned and itchy) so it was great to get a tan last summer when I was on
it. I think I even tanned in a tanning bed before going on vacation, and didn't
have any problems. Just don't sit out there longer than you usually
would...like someone else mentioned, the inflammation is masked on pred.
