For anyone who may be interested
The following is an extract from a book by a herbalist (or some similar
calling) that was lent to me by a friend who after about 5 yrs
acquaintance finally realised I had a problem and that it was called
Crohn's disease. (This is a friend whose son is best mates with my son
and we have had dinners together etc about 2-3 times a month over the
last 4 yrs - tis friend is into herbal type remedies etc)

I cannot from my own knowledge vouch for it but felt that in seeking a
cure for these probs no stone should be left unturned (how's that for a
cliche??)

My Doc has told me that the contents will not exacerbate my crohns but
was unable to comment on its effectiveness either.

I will tell you though that it lives up to its name and it is BITTER.
So far I have only been able to handle one dose - about 2 weeks ago.
When I get over that I may try again.

Note the percentage alcohol content - it may cause probs with driving
legally even if it was sold out of the unlicensed section of the super
market

For what it is worth, here it is and if it works for you, I will be very
happy.

====================
One case I remember very vividly concerned an Adelaide woman who lived
in Hong Kong who would fly to Adelaide regularly to visit her specialist
in North Adelaide. She suffered from Crohn's disease, which is a
chronic, inflammatory bowel infection of unknown origin. The woman read
about Swedish Bitters in Health Through God's Pharmacy and came to visit
me in the days when I still sold it in powder form. Every time her
supply ran out she would return until she finally bought a kilogram of
the powder to cut down the frequency of her trips. Her husband was an
international pilot based in Hong Kong so the flights over were as
common for her as might be bus trips for you and me. The last time she
visited me she reported her North Adelaide specialist had declared her
cured of Crohn's disease. He was bemused but she was in no doubt as to
the cause of her cure. That episode cheered me and when, a short time
later, a distraught mother confided to me that her daughter, who was
about to leave home and go to university, was suffering from Crohn's
disease and was there anything I could recommend? I had no hesitation in
recommending Swedish Bitters and the girl took the medicine regularly
and, in a few months, was cured. That episode has a particularly happy
ending because a few months ago, about six years after last seeing the
mother, I ran into her again while shopping. Naturally, I asked her how
her daughter was and was delighted to be told the condition never
returned.

Approved camphor recipe
To make 750 ml of Swedish Bitters you need:
5g Aloe
2.5g Myrrh
0.1 g Saffron
5g Senna leaf
1 g Camphor
5g Rhubarb root
5g Manna
5g Zedvoary root
5g Theriac
2.5g Carline thistle root
5g Angelica root
35-40% Alcohol (gin or vodka)

Put mixture into a dark, screw-top jar and pour onto the herbs and stand
it, tightly covered, in a warm place for 14 days. Shake twice daily.
Strain through a muslin cloth. Use 5ml as required.

Wonder if "Bitters" would work the same. . .
