Untrue. If you live in the country there are lots of kittens
available from semi-wild barn cats that are great hunters. Raise them
as outdoor barn cats and they will learn to hunt or not survive.

Depends on the cat or dog. My Schnauzer makes damned short work
of mice and rats, I can tell you that.
(He also wants to kill possums, but they're a bit too big for
him to tangle with.)

That wouldn't be required. A developed country could start with
welfare recipients, making it optional, but with a cash payment.
Another easy group would be convicts. Starting with sex
offenders, some of whom already get chemical or surgical
castration. This could start out as an incentive for early
parole, and progress to mandatory.
Third world countries could have an injectable contraceptive
surreptitiously mixed in with free vaccinations. This would
require the holy grail of contraception - a long-acting substance
that works on males. Going further would be a permanently
sterilising chemical.
That could also be used in developed countries, perhaps mixed
with flu vaccinations (either regular seasonal type, or
scare-of-the-year type, like bird flu, swine flu, aardvark flu,
etc.) Or with standard childhood vaccines. It could be directed
to poor areas, where the people can't afford kids, so it would be
justified as doing them a favour. And they are powerless,
anyway, especially if they don't know what is happening.
OTOH, a sneaky government isn't going to want to sterilise the
smart, hard-working, productive, affluent members of society.
Because they will be needed to produce more of themselves, to
feed the economy. And also to keep the ponzi scheme old age
benefits going, plus paying for public health care.

Well, I don't have any mice, but my five can and do catch the geckos
that come in from the garage. I get dead geckos as presents all the

put the cat into the store room to wreck the shelves chasing the mouse
or the cat is out of business.
I have a cat outside killing anything smaller then it is, and poison
blocks inside to kill anything that gets past killer kitty.
