Read those stories.
Blame the victim of abuse.
Kenneth Marcus, Patricia Leebens,
James Phillips, Yale Psychiatry,...
All Much in Favor.
That *IS* what Psychiatry *IS*.
Andrea Yates. Perfect example.
Andrea BAD to not want to go back to Russell
ABUSER Yates. Here TAKE THESE DRUGS SO YOU
WILL BE ABLE TO TOLERATE THIS ABUSE!!!
Bad, Bad, Bad, Andrea. Now made psychotic
by psychotropics, since that is EXACTLY what
they do.
Similarly, BLAME THE KID, in DCF PsychoLand.
THIS is what your tax dollars go to support.
A PERVASIVE MENTAL DISORDER that belongs to
DCF Staff, because if DCF and DMHAS did NOT
have this mental disorder, they would not be
employees of the State.
I was told I could have Respite Care if I
had an abusive, drug-abusing boyfriend in
here beating me up all the time. Lorraine
Thomas, DCF.
Now, they will take your kids away if you stay
with an abuser. So, the DCF gave my kids to
that abuser.
Not hard to believe, once you read those stories
above, on the Child Advocate's website.

This means that it is NOT acceptable to hire bunches of 25 yo Art History
majors to ride around in cars ferretting out *ABUSE.*
CPS workers should be actually helping families.
One recommendation I made was to limit CPS' interventions in the age of
children over the age of say, 8.
When children can speak coherently, DCF might wish to initiate after school
programs for parents who have NO child care, etc.
Much more helpful than riding around in state cars, filing *reports.*
Good link, BTW, Kathleen. On topic for this NG.

Interventions, or removal? For my part, I can hardly see a reason for
removing a child, say over the age of 8, for any reason other than
demonstrated physical harm or injury. Intervenion suggests that parents are
being watched while at the same time gives the child an opportunity to
discuss or report mistreatment... which a child over age 8 could well do...
and even ask for removal if necessary.

I have been aware of many parents who are DESPERATE TO keep their children out
of the Juvenile Justice system.
In inner-cities, probably a majority of young men have had numerous contacts
with the JJ system, including routinely being *locked-up.*
So many parents call for help with their unmanageable teens. And they are NOT
calling CPS.
I believe that CPS has directly contributed toward the weakening of families.
What have we done with a generation of young adults.
