My wife was diagnosed with celiac disease 20 years ago and that was
controlled by diet. About 7 years ago she was diagnosed with collitus
which has largely been controlled by prednisone.

About six months ago she began to have intestinal problems on awakening
for the first two or three hours. No cause has been determined. She
has had an upper endoscopy, a colonoscopy, stool samples, etc. etc.
Everything was determined to be normal with celiac and collitus under
control yet she still has the problem.

Years ago we tracked down the collitus in advance of meeting with the
gastroenterologist with internet advice. I do not have the celiac blog
that I used.

Any suggestions as to a cause or a blog to inquire further?

Thanks

Don

(1) For the colitis I suggest you do a search for the Specific Carbohydrate
Diet. Or SCD. Much better to control colitis with a diet than a steroid.

(2) Some celiacs find that a gluten-free diet isn't enough. And they have
to go on the paleo diet. This is the diet that humans are biologically
adapted to. A search will turn up lots.

The two diets are similar. The SCD allows some beans and a specially made
yogurt. The paleo diet has no legumes and no dairy. (And no grains of any
kind.) I follow the paleo diet. I do so as it is the best way to avoid the
numerous diseases of civilization that now plague us.

People often forget that corn is a grain also.

Yes, but many grains, such as pure corn, rice, quinoa, are gluten free.

Uh, what is your point? Do you think that people following a celiac
newsgroup don't know this?

We are discussing colitis, not celiac disease. To control colitis requires
more than simply a gluten-free diet. That is why we are discussing the
Specific Carbohydrate Diet and the paleo diet.

Humans did not evolve as seed eaters. All seeds have anti-nutrients to
discourage their consumption. If animals ate all the plant's seeds, the
plant would not be able to reproduce.

But seeds can be grown with almost no labor. They are very profitable. And
subsidized by the government on top of it. Hence seeds are pushed on us,
either to eat them directly or to eat meat that has been raised on seeds.

The point was in response to the previous post.

Since I started the thread and it is a celiac newsgroup, I would point
out that I am discussing both.

Suggest you take your advertising elsewhere.

Looks like you didn't like the answers you were getting and now get none.

Isn't that signature line at the bottom part of YOUR advertising?
