Hi,

I have abdominal pain lately and I cannot pinpoint the food that is causing
it.

Could Excell chewing gum contain gluten? I don't remember having problem
with Trident chewing gum.

I also wonder if Oh Henry chocolate bar is gluten free. If not, it there
any known gluten-free chocolate bar. For some reason, I have been craving
chocolate lately, I don't understand why.

When food is causing me abdominal pain, I also have a tension in the
diaphragm area. Is it a common symptom?

I am looking for a good web site for a gluten-free food list, with canadian
product. I was told that sometimes the same brand uses different recipe, in
different country, what makes things more difficult.

Since I go for my shopping list of questions, is Advil gluten-free? Last
time I took it, I had abdominal pain, I called the company and they told me
that Advil was gluten-free, I saw on the internet that Advil was on a list
of product that tested positive for gluten.

Could the abdominal pain means something else, I am confused.

Thanks for your help

Johanne.

In some of the reading it seems that advil is *not* an ok thing for a
celiac, but then again I am new to all of this and can only tell you what I
have read and printed out for myself.

Is Excel that chewing gum that has Sorbitol or Aspartame in it?
Sorbitol in excess can cause loosening of the bowels. And of course,
Aspartame is not good for us at all....

Probably one in a million but I heard about a guy who almost bled to death
in his stomach from taking three Advil. They ended up removing a good
portion of his stomach.

I called the company and they told me

Don't know if Advil is like this but company spokespersons on their
consumer lines are notoriously naive and uninformed about their own
product. And if you ask detailed questions they tend to think you are
prying for proprietary information and may deliberately lie to protect the
company; lie because they think you are being too particular and want you
off the line; or just simply because they are blissfully uninformed.

Furthermore, even more intelligent people, when asked if gluten is added
will invariably say no. In fact, read any ingredient list and see for
yourself that "gluten" is almost never added to any food on the market.
Many people think they are quite advanced for simply reading an ingredient
list (without learning ingredient list lingo).
