That's the problem with "a friend of a friend said" post.
Readers in a.s.p.c never know how accurate numbers are,
or even if the writer isn't trying to conceal his own ID.
Any replies here could be further twisted by the time they
arrive back at "a friend of a friend."
Let the "friend of a friend" post himself. Libraries and
senior centers and other places all have free internet access.
There's absolutely no reason they can't come to a.s.p.c and
explain the numbers and problems first-hand, rathen than
letting it filter down through 2 or more people.

That's an excellent suggestion Chief.
Unfortunately, there are still a lot of people who either:
1. Are uncomfortable talking to strangers about their
health problems (though they don't need to use real
names if they don't want to.), or
2. Are clueless about Internet usage.
Problem number 2 is gradually clearing up as us old
dinosaurs fall into the tar pits.

Let's assume the "friend of a friend" doesn't want to post and the friend
still wants to help. We can still help him vicariously, just not as
accurately or difinitively. Or at least that's what a friend told me.

You and Alan got it right, Steve. Many thanks for your sensitivities. The
fellow is the husband of a friend closer to my wife than I. But they
approached me after the initial biopsy, because they were aware of my own
RRP history. At the same time, they appear not only embarrassed &
overwhelmed by their predicament, but also perhaps mislead by doctors who've
so far failed to convey a prudent level of urgency. I'll post a bit more on
my original thread above.
