The meltdown is an ugly thing. But what's even my ugly than the
meltdown, are those who exploit it. The actor Christain Bale is a
perfect example of this.

Now what's sick about this is how people have exploited this outburst
to no end. People getting up on soap boxes. People doing parodies.
Some people just can't leave something like this alone. They have to
get in on it one way or another. I'm sure more than one columnist
wrote up a scathing article about Bale's behavior to great accolades.
Maybe he's even been black balled a few places because of this. But
these people are the real jerks, in disguise, not Bale.

Of course I'm sure no one would have any trouble imagining how Bale
would respond someone like Bob Badass, the self styled hero guru
abuser straightener outer.

I think I'd like to add on a personal note, for what it's worth to
anyone who might be genuinely concerned. my meltdowns have for very
many years now been limited to text. And those are usually directed at
those I know, and who know me. People I can trust to see it for what
it is and get over it. Or sometime I'll go on a flame torrent on
usenet. These are never planned, they just happen. It's pretty much a
standard amount of annoyance (unwarranted or not) which becomes
greatly augmented. The interesting thing is that I'm usually quite
composed in all other aspects when I deliver these. Outside of the
textual outbursts, I'm quite taciturn and monotone. A “quiet” man with
a “very dry sense of humor”. Although I do at times speak too frankly
for some. This is where my "people skills" become an issue. Some
people appreciate my "robot" like approach and accredit to me as
professionalism. But others are offended by it and consider me mean,
or at least not as nice i.e. congenial as they'd like.
But the way I see it, I'd rather be sincere. The job I was "fired"
from just simply had me around too many people. My real “boss” who
knows me very well professionally, actually defended my demeanor, but
at the same time, realized, as did I, that I needed to be in an
environment with less exposure to so many people, some of whom expect
everyone to be super vivacious.
My new "boss", the manager of the account I'm currently working is
sort of a drill sergeant personality. I think she's put off my by my
lack of being impervious to intimidation and my frankness. It's seems
now that she's trying to avoid me, since she doesn't know how to deal
with me. Which is fine. I’m quite capable of doing my job, without her
supervision.
This week so far has been quite pleasant. I'm looking forward to going
to town on my next motorcycle fabrication.

Make that lack of being intimidated. Impervious to intimidation.

That's a great quality to have. Is it because you have pots of money and
don't need the job? (:^)

Most of the time I suppose.

Only enough to get by on for a stretch. I could go into business with
my brother customizing motorcycles. Go into business for myself, which
I've dabbled in and been successful with. Move in with my brother,
which believe it of not my sister-in-law has been trying to get me to
do for years. Or move in with my sister and nephew, they'd be happy to
have me too. But I do like being king (and only subject) of my little
crackerbox castle.
