Apparently the author thinks it's better to get the disease instead of the
vaccination. Vaccines have their risks, but the diseases they can prevent
are far worse and much more likely to occur than any vaccine side effects.
The worst side effect my kids have ever had was a slight fever lasting not

Vaccines do not cause autism. The risks of getting a disease and having to
deal with its effects are far greater than the risks posed by any
vaccination. In Indonesia and many other counrties, people get sick and even
die from diseases that are preventable by vaccines. On of my in-laws
neighbors children in Indonesia just died of meningetis. This is a disease
that can be prevented by an immunization that this child never had. In
Indonesia, where vaccines are not always available or parents don't know
where to get them there are many cases of meningitis, measels and so many
other diseases we are routinely immunized against. We should be greatful
that we can get vaccines.

on the food that you eat sometime. How many ingredients are
unpronouncable and certainly not natural ingredients, but are
chemicals? What about the meat that comes from animals who have been
fed hormones, antibiotics and God knows what else? What about
vegetables and fruits that have been sprayed with all sorts of things
or grown in soil treated with chemicals?
Then take a look at what's in the stuff you clean your house or even
your body with. Ammonia, bleach, petroleum, etc. We put all sorts of
toxins all over ourselves when we shower and use certain body washes
and shampoos, squirt some cologne on, put on makeup, deodorant, etc.
Then there is what's in the environment, in the air, in the clothes we
wear.
Every day, people are exposed to toxins. Lots of them! These toxins
are inhaled, eaten, drunk, and taken in through the skin all the
time.
I would wager a guess that there are more toxins coming in from the
environment on a daily basis than what's in one vaccine.
Since we're on the subject of pharmaceuticals, let's look a little
deeper:
How many of these anti-vaccine people have their autistic children on
anti psychotics or other psychiatric medications? Do they know what
the long term effects are of most psychiatric medications? Do they
know what these things can do a child's body? (Do they care?)
How many of these people are putting their autistic children on herbal
remedies or other things that might also cause harm? "Natural" doesn't
always equal "safe" either!
How about chelation? That one's nice and safe, eh? Sure... it's
killed a few people, but hey... vaccines are worse, right?
Now, let's look at what would happen if we had no vaccines. Anyone
here old enough to remember what it was like when polio and other
nasty diseases were common? I've met many people who are still
impaired by the effects of polio and rheumatic fever (rheumatoid
arthritis anyone?)

Forget chemicals, riding a bike to school just one time is more than 100
times as dangerous as taking a dose of the oral polio vaccine. Even if a
parent never lets their kid bike to school, strapping the kid in the car
and driving the kid to school just one time is 15 times as dangerous.

I'm not aware that we have a vaccine yet for swine flu. If one is made
available, I'm sure it will be safe.
However, I've managed to last for around 4 decades without needing a flu
shot. Outside of Mexico, the symptoms have been very mild (only 1 person
died outside Mexico, and that was a 2 year old Mexican child).
It's been another exercise in hype. Gave the media something to write about,
and various people got the opportunity to practice for a pandemic. It's not
happened this time.

eventually died of pneumonia. I do recall on one occasion the flu vax made
me feel slightly ill.
I think I probably have a lot of herd immunity to various strains of flu,
enough to deal with any but the joker in the pack.
It is posited that over 50's unless they have some other weakness are less
vulnerable because of the increased lifetime exposure to various strains.
After all I have lived through the last two pandemics, and there were no
vaccines then.

All depends on what criteria you use. I think various countries have their
own definitions, but the World Health Organisation has a list, and we're
currently at phase 5 in that. Phase 5 means that the virus is being spread
human to human in at least 2 countries within the WHO region. It doesn't

To a certain extent, the battle against influenza is a case of generals
fighting the last war. It's possible for another really killer influenza
to come along, and of the past human pathogens, influenza is the one
least evolved to live with us.
But, the next really killer pandemic will probably be something we have
never seen in humans before like when influenza first crossed over from
birds or when bubonic plague first broke out of the desert. That's when
we get a real noticeable population decline.
