Melissa Supreme (Herbal Supplements for ADHD, by Gaia Herbs), anyone out there tried?

Anyone tried the above type herbal supplement for their ADD/ADHD as an adult?
or had their child(ren) try it for ADD/ADHD symptoms? Let me know what you
have found (i.e., changes good, bad, or no change in behaviors, schoolwork,
etc.).

My son (age 7) is still on Ritalin, Clonidine and Wellbutrin for his ADHD/ODD
and Depression, but he is starting to take some drops of Melissa in his juice
in the morning and at night. He seems to be doing better at school lately
(trying harder) and his behavior is better at school (so sayeth the teacher),
and not as oppositional to me (although some things will never change there!).

He is severe ADHD, behavioral problems, so this change has been an exciting
one, but I do not know whether it is a fluke that the herbs were added right
before the changes were noticed. As I said, let me know what you think.

You are aware, aren't you, that many of the listed things contain DHMO?
And that DHMO is potentially lethal?

Isn't there a movement to ban the unrestricted sale and use of DHMO? If
not there *should* be--I mean, that stuff is DANGEROUS! And even our
Precious Children are able to buy it from the corner convenience store.
They even use this packaging that makes it look, well, clean and pure.

Someone ought to *do* something.

what is DMHO??

It's short for Dihydrogen monoxide. It's a powerful solvent that can
kill quickly in its solid or gaseous forms.

DHMO has been detected in malignant tumors removed from people with
cancer.

It has been used by the Navy in nuclear experiments for years.

It is a component of many pesticides, and residues are detectable on
fruits and vegetables even after extensive washing. More worrisome
still, recent studies have detected DHMO even on so-called "organic"
produce, leading many to believe that these products may have been
treated with DHMO at some point in their processing.

Quite frankly, I'm surprised that you would recommend treatments known
to be so seriously contaminated with DHMO.

Around here they even put out official warnings about the stuff.
There is one right now. The DHMO aka ODH around here has developed an
extreme physical instability and people have been told to stay away
from the stuff. It's very dangerous!

Look, you guys, DHMO is a naturally-occuring compound in some parts of the
world. This kind of scare tactic is the kind of thing that gives chemical
companies a bad name. Sure, it can cause death. But would you want to go
back to the stone age?

Swampy does not care if what she recommends can cause problems or has never
been shown clinically to be effective. She looks at the world through Irlen
coloured glasses.

I think it is despicable that she would pour such a substance down the throats
of unsuspecting kids.

The stuff's a killer. In our volunteer EMT work, DMHO has
been a major contributor to at least one fatality and many
emergencies.

All of them, if I'm not mistaken--and it takes a shockingly small amount
of DHMO to cause irreversible drain bamage and even death.

I have to confess, I experimented with it in the '60s, back when it was
freely available (it was almost like, well, opening a faucet). Now that I
know the dangers, it just AMAZES me that I survived this long.

Maybe it's not that lethal? Good grief, for all the valerian and chamomile tea

I think a, c, d, e, g, and j. The others might too.

DHMO can be lethal as almost all levels depending on the situation, a
person's vulnerability etc.

If processed properly, you can get b, f, g, h, and i without it, though
most products containing them contain at least trace quantities.

The rest are contaminated in a big way.

So why didn't you say that before, instead of making a frightening
blanket statement without explanation? You know, people who
make statements similar to yours about stimulants are quickly
bounced the heck out of here.

And have you heard of people who've taken the "contaminated"
items becoming ill or dropping dead? If yes, please
cite your sources.

I know one family whose child suffered irreversible brain damage and later
died as a direct result of DHMO.

That can be some dangerous stuff! It's AMAZING how easy it is to get--I
understand some elementary age kids are even taking it to school with
them.

I'm just wondering why someone doesn't DO something?

My entire class is addicted to DHMO. They especially want it after being
outside or during meals. Its sad... sometimes they become very upset with me
because I won't allow them to get the DHMO.

Joe,
I know all too well the consequences of the kids having DHMO in the
classroom. They keep INSISTING they need to leave the room! Its
disgusting how upset they get sometimes... and they sneak the DHMO when
I'm not looking! They ask to go to the nurse or something, and I find
that they've actually gone out to procure DHMO!

Fortunately, there aren't very many supplies in our building... though
the lavatories seem to abound with them!

We have personally handled at least one fatality DIRECTLY

In central Arizona DMHO is second only to auto accidents as the
cause of death in children 1yo-5yo (ages approximate).

The anecdotal evidence is there. I think the herbs help. We were able
to avoid ritilin by using supplements. I beleive in them.

Excuse the intrusion but what is DHMO and why would it be in something as
innocent as chamomile. I can't find the original mention of this.

Actually, that was a slight typo; it's DHMO--and it is one of the most
useful, all-natural substances known to man.

It can also be one of the most dangerous if misused. Many believe there
should be more stringent controls on it.

Sorry for the typo and the resulting confusion.

That makes it two for one. WE are cranky because
not only did you dump the puckslingers on us but kept
all the snow. (And I'm REALLY cranky now because the
storm that's currently dumping several feet of snow on
the high country is a month too late to save the ski season!)

For anyone who is still unaware, DHMO "the deadly compound... .that is a pervasive solvent... and has resulted in fatalities... etc" in various posts is diHydrogen MonOxide which being interpreted is H2O, water.

you will find that you cannot live without it in solid liquid or gas forms. if you inhale too much of it you drown. virtually no chemical test can be performed without it, either as a cleansing agent, a solvent for necessary ions, or water for subjects to drink.

I and I alone will make the key decisions on this newsgroup. Although this sure was a "blast from the past" most of the old posters are dead are in an insane asylum drooling on themselves.

We did everything in our power to help them, but it was a lost cause.

Now move along.
