Turner: Why are babies doped on antidepressants?
UnitedFuture deputy leader Judy Turner, today deplored shocking statistics
on the level of antidepressants prescribed to children.
"I am horrified to discover that we have prescribed very high levels of
antidepressants to Kiwi kids.
"In the three financial years, 2004 to 2007 (the 2007 figures are subject to
change) over 10,000 scripts for antidepressants were written:
0-1 years 1650 2-5 years 4626 6-9 years 4269
"I have no idea why in the year 2004/05, 453 babies under 1 year old were
prescribed antidepressants. How can so many infants be clinically depressed?
"The ramifications of these figures are frightening: babies are born with
only 15% of their brain fully-developed. Eightyfive percent of development
happens from 0-3 years.
"Surely, the antidepressants will interfere with the hardwiring of the
children's brains and influence their long-term well-being.
"It seems unlikely that these children would need the prescription for a
short period. More likely, they will require antidepressants for the rest of
their childhood, perhaps into adulthood.
"The one good thing about these figures is that the amount prescribed in the
0-1 age group is declining. Nonetheless, all parents should ask why such
high levels of antidepressants are being prescribed," she said.

Do you happen to know if low dose naltrexone is helpful, rather then
harmful?

Inflammation has caused the functioning of many of my vital organs to become
impaired following seven YEARS of my being forced to live in fear for the
lives of myself and my loved ones as a consequence of my being amongst the
US civilians being subjected to the virtual program of systematic torture
being executed by a group of the worse of the world's worse criminals which
US psychologists assembled to silence whistleblowers and the critics of
psychology.
GEE! I seemed to have missed that perk ^^^^^^^^^^^, Oh well, shrugs.
Good point!
Interesting contribution!
I *KNOW* you do not know the cause.

Schizophrenia is an illness.

Got real proof? I doubt it.

I would rather hear verifiable facts.
I have been taking anti-depressants for almost ten years without any
bowel or other longterm health problems. OTOH, I have a friend who has
never taken anti-depressants who developed Crohn's in his late 20s.
Since his doctors don't know the reason for this, how could you? If
these meds were taken off the market, it would severely and negatively
impact those of us who need them for mental disorders.

One can be mentally ill and intelligent, too. You don't need to
qualify the statement as if her intelligence is an *exception* to the
rule.
I'm glad the administrator isn't listening to you. As a friend, you
have no legal standing, nor do you have the medical expertise, to
participate in her treatment. Schizophrenia is a brain *disease*,
meaning it changes the structure and function of the brain, and needs
to be managed with medication.

I'm with Mark on this one. Back up your statement with facts.
Yes, in large doses.
However, I was asking if you knew about the use of low dose naltrexone.

Not in my case.
In my case, it's a direct consequence of the politicized FBI unwillingness
to arrest, prosecute and imprison the individual members of the group of
cybercriminals who psychologists assembled to carryout a virtual program of
systematic torture intended to murder me by forcing me to live in fear for
the lives of myself and my loved ones for the past seven years.
That could be only if the people you speak of
> were using stimulants and you knew them and had a mind connection with
> them.
I suspect what you are referring to as a "mind connection" is what
psychologists call "projective identification".
"Projective identification occurs when persecutive internal objects, often
part-self objects, are projected into the external object as though, on a
fantasy level, these projected parts are imagined as taking possession and
controlling the external object. The identificatory dimension of the process
is theorized by Klein as resulting from the relationship that is maintained
between self and external object in the intraspychic on a fantasy level.
Klein first begins the study of these identification phenomena from the
viewpoint of their anal and sadistic dimensions, pointing out the confusing
effects this mechanism has on the subject"
Casoni, D.Ps, Louis Brunet, D.Ps.
http://www.sicap.it/~merciai/bion/papers/cason.htm
"Projective identification is a phantasy of projecting the whole, or a part
of, oneself into another object, taking possession of it, and attributing to
the object one's own characteristics. The motives for projective
identification are varied, like the wish to possess an ideal object and fuse
with it; or getting into the bad object to attack or take over its assumed
power; and many others; in particular it abolishes separateness."

In as much as stimulants and stimulating antidepressants numb feelings,
especially empathy, neither stimulant nor antidepressant users have any
conscience ; therefore, stimulant and antidepressant users are amongst
those who are most likely to engage in the ambient abuse requisite to
getting under other peoples skin.
> They do not have to be criminals. These are ordinary people I speak of,

Ordinary people don't usually take stimulants or stimulating
antidepressants.
People who do take stimulants or stimulating antidepressants are no longer
ordinary people because the stimulants and/or stimulating antidepressants
numb their ability to feel and the inability to feel shame, remorse,
guilt, empathy is requise to having a conscience ERGO stimulant and
antidepressant junkies are drug induced psychopaths.

As it happens, yes, the worse of the worse criminals whom psychologists
assembled to execute a virtual program of systematic torture intended to
murder me are stimulant and/or antidepressant junkies.

I agree.
Unfortunately, the US DOJ is unwilling to arrest, prosecute and imprison
the murderers whom psychologists assembled to execute a virtual program of
virtual torture to murder myself and innocent others.

you're theory is sound.
You just need to polish it up some by learning more about the "projective
identification" which stimulant and AD junkies are highly likely to engage
in as a result of their drugging leaving them without a conscience.

<boggle> If I understand you correctly, you're saying people who
*don't* take anti-depressants are somehow harmed through the... "mind/
body connection" with those who do. In other words, you believe your
health may be damaged by non-physical contact with people like me,
even over great distances?
How did you arrive at this conclusion? Why does this seem reasonable
to you?

They don't distort perception in the way marijuana and cocaine do.

A lot has changed in the last 50 years besides the introduction of
antidepressants. Have you considered there may be *other* social and
environmental pressures underlying the increase of depression in the
general population?
> Doctors had to talk to bring the person to a good level of
> living. It is the pharms biggest selling drug, apparently everyone likes to
> be spiked up. (me too)
It is a misconception that antidepressants somehow cause people to
become "spiked up." There may be a stimulant side-effect from *some*
types of antidepressants while the brain is adjusting to the
medication, but this is short-lived. Some people, additionally, may
develop mania in response to antidepressants that are unopposed by a
mood stabilizer, but only because these people have bipolar disorder
(rather than unipolar depression), which needs to be treated with
additional medications. For most people, in the long run, there is no
primary stimulant effect (no spiking up). It's not like cocaine in
that respect.
> I am not saying take away Insulin, high blood pressure med or similar meds,

The side-effects of marijuana and cocaine are well known, and not at
all analogous to the effects of antidepressants. All medication is
"elective." You either choose to take it, or you experience the
consequences of the underlying disease. In this way, treating
depression is no different from treating diabetes. If I didn't take
antidepressants, I would be depressed a good bit of the time (and most
of them are not stimulants, btw)--by taking this medication, I am able
to function normally, like many people who aren't afflicted with
mental illness.
> Everyone that takes anti-depressants defends them, but then many defend

Have you ever considered that people defend the use of antidepressants
because--for many--they effectively treat the condition for which
they're prescribed?
> Scizophrenia is managed not by anti-depressants, but by anti-psychotic

Yes, schizophrenia is primarily treated with anti-psychotics (many of
which also have antidepressant properties), but some people have
depression in addition to schizophrenia or have negative signs of
schizophrenia (flat affect, anergia, etc.) that can be significantly
improved by the use of these meds.

I don't understand how you reached the conclusion that there's any
connection between Crohn's disease and contact with people on anti-
depressants when there's no scientific evidence to support your
theory. How do you think people developed Crohn's disease *before* the
1950's or 60's, when antidepressants were first formulated?
For over a decade, unethical psychologists assembled groups of everchanging
cybercriminals, most of whom are stimulant and AD junkies, to carryout a
virtual program of systematic torture devised by unethical psychologists to
MURDER whistleblowers and critics of psychology via forcing whistleblowers
and critics of psychology to live in fear for the lives of themselves and
their children--in order to occaison fatal physiological damage.
For over a decade, both the politicized US DOJ and FBI have been unwilling
to arrest, prosecute and imprison any of these cybergangs of murdering
serial cyberstalkers.
> Crohns is not a conscious meaning to harm anyone. No one knows what is
> taking place.
If you don't know what is taking place, then you can't assert that people
who are without conscience owing to their choosing to use stimulants or
stimulating antidepressants aren't intentionally engaging in the ambient
abuse necessary to occaision such a high degree of distress it occaisions
physiological damage of targeted individuals vital organs, causing death,
aka MURDER.

My personal experiences with die hard stimulant and stimulanting AD users
has caused me to conclude they seeking a cocktail of drugs is to commit
suicide in a socially acceptable manner---whilst, simultaneously engaging
in destructive behaviors to see how many innocent people they can take down
...before they go.

How nice of you to manipulate this woman by incorporating her fears
into your little conspiracy theory. If there were any murderers on
here who wanted you dead, you'd already be dead. Therefore, none of us
are murderers, none of us want to drive you insane (too late), and few
of us ever respond to your posts (despite knowing you read every one
of ours) because you are a crazy, manipulative old woman.

Glad to see you are developing insight.
Yes, you say this. For years. It is absurd, of course, but, you do say it.
It is more than unscientific. It is un-real. It cannot happen.
Social interaction is that way.
(mind/body connection in spite of distance.)
I dimly recall that UC is similar to psoriasis.
... Psoriasis being a nasty, persistent, genetically disposed,
"stress TRIGGERED", autoimmune cluster fuck.
IOW, a Pandora's box in the *truest* sense of it's meaning.
If "such" is indeed the case with Crohn's Disease then "mind/body
connection in spite of distance" may pertain.
YMMV.
P.S. ...
One of the *few* good things about psoriasis is that denying it's
*tangible* existence in a non issue.
No telling how many people I've contaminated just by reaching through
the monitor with my malignant, antidepressant-taking aura. Beware! :)
HTH & HAND :)
ROFL!
It is oned of the miserable things one can develop in life. When I was
in high school, I worked in Dr. Crohn's lab as a test tube washer. He
had the disease and I vividly recall several flareups where he was
absolutely miserable.

Nope. The causes are unknown, but it is certainly not caused by someone
else taking medications.

I worked with a woman years ago wo had it. She was the great?
granddaughter of Strom Thurmond. She had some ugly flareups and I did
fel her agony.
