That site is about brain injury, not ADHD. Did you look at it???

An influential recomendation.. not! "amateur neuropsychologist"??

I'm just catching up; could someone bring me up on who is this freak
anyway and what's he doing wanking here aside from he's a fuckup with no
life who gets off on trolling support groups?

That site is about the human brain. ADHD has undergone a series of
name changes over the years. Previously ADHD was known as ADD, then
Hyperactivity/Hyperkinetic Syndrome of Childhood, then Minimal Brain
Dysfunction, and before that Minimal Brain Damage. A good doctor will
be able to use the site to suggest the areas of the brain which are
involved with the idea of attention deficits, including ADHD-ADD-
Hyperactivity. In her book, The Hyperactive Child, Dr. Domeena C.
Renshaw, M.D., has a similar image and she hints at the areas
associated with ADHD-ADD-Hyperactivity. There are also other resources
you likely are aware of such as articles in the most recent
encyclopedias on cd-rom about the human brain which also tend to
identify the part or parts of the brain which are believed involved in
the attention deficit syndrome. The best answers to ADHD in my view
will eventually come from identifying the parts of the brain involved
in attention deficits so ADHD can be understood even better so more and
better medicines can be invented in the future. That's progress in my
view vs the opposite which is, sorry to use a harsh sounding word,
ignorance it seems to me.

Take another hit on the clue bong, CTW; ADD is NOT brain injured. The
one thing that comes through in your ridiculous posts here is that you
don't know what your talking about. The brain isn't organised like a
department store, brain processes are layered and redundant. Your
notion of matching function with area of the brain to "locate" ADHD is
so far mistaken, I can't even tell you. I'm quite sure that you get that
simple view from reading books written for laymen or school children.

Jean

P.S. Do yourself a favour and get off it with the name game; it only
shows off your ignorance of the subject. Saying a host of melancholy
humours would at least be reasonable - for the 16th century.

On the contrary, you Viking Savage, there are several studies relating
location
of function and differences in ADD and controls. It is common practice in
modern
neuro-psychology to consider this study as *one* investigative model. The
model
you refer to, is the brain operates in Mass Action. Steve Harris, who very
recently posted in this newsgroup has an excellent theory and yet talks of
no
particular location, just brain functioning.

Other models include humanism, subscribed to by The Reverend Dr. Poopie
Pants and
myself, even though holding different points of view on the use of Ritalin.
Dr.
Poopie Pants thinks it ridiculous to take psychotropic drugs, especially
giving
them to kids. I say society is ridiculous because it demands too much from
our
kids and give them the Ritalin because now the damage is done and Ritalin
works. You, by the way, bong marijuana. I say this may help you in your day
to day routine and may in fact be good for you. I know it is not good for
me,
nor do I advocate its administration as a street drug for our kids but I can
see
that for some people, they benefit from smoking it every day.

This is a pragmatic point of view. And all these points of view make up what
we
have here - a support group.

Helpful?

Now there's a ringing endorsement of humanism if I ever saw one.

Which is about what you'd be expecting from someone who spends his days
trying to get attention from people he's never met by acting up here,
no? My gf got his #; "what a looney tune!"
