A question about Prednisone was posed last month about
possible bruising. Prednisone is noted to cause bruising
especially when taking large doses or taking for long
periods of time. I have emphysema and asthma and am
treated with high doses for 10-20 days when I get a
lung infection. I bruise with the slightest bump or
pressure. I am 47, so it's not from age and thinning of
skin.

I can agree that some people can get terribly affected by this - me being
one of them! I only occasionally take these tablets (maybe twice a year for
10 days or so, although at high doses for that period) yet get quite
terrible red weals under the skin around the waist which take months to go.
In fact, they take so long that they seem permanent (just as they are going
a new round of tablets will refresh them).

So to reassure those who are also seeing this - don't panic about it, it's
just one of those things. If you need to take them that badly, then some
bruising is the least of your concerns.
