Anakinra?

Is anyone trying Anakinra or have any knowledge of this new drug, after six
weeks of daily injections the only thing gained is a rash, would appreciate
comparing notes or hearing from other Anakinra users.

Eric-Were you in the clinical trials? Anakinra has not yet be released for
general use.
You are going to find very, very few people who have tried it yet.

Eric,
Just saw your post, haven't been around much lately. I am in the clinical
trial for Anakinra. I've been on it for seven months now. I also get a rash
at the injection site. This is very normal. I take Benedral (sp) every night
and it does help, you can also use a cortisone cream to rub on it.

My RD was/is doing trials on Anakinra. I was "too far gone" as far as
damage to my
feet & hands so I didn't get to try. A friend that is an RN was on it
for awhile & she
got a rash & it worked for awhile for her. His group of patients is not
blinded now & he knows who is getting the drug. It is the same as other
treatments, it works
for some & not for others. A couple of the guinea pigs it just stoped
working.

Hi Eric I am on the Anakinra PEGS TNF-R1 combination trial here in Aus. I
have done just over 2 weeks of daily injections (Anakinra) and twice weekly
the nurse comes to give me two more injections (PEGS). That's 11 injections
a week! I don' feel any different RA wise although I do think I have a bit
more energy, I'm not getting home from work and wishing that I could go
straight to bed at the moment.
I have been getting itching at the daily injections sites but it's not bad.
So you don't feel any different and yet they haven't taken you off it? I was
told that if it became obvious that I was getting the placebo I would be
taken off after about a month.
