Appt. with Rheumy!! :-)))

Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to share that I now have an appt. with a rheumy on May 10th.
I cannot wait to see him! :-) I am so happy. I thought I'd have to wait
months and months to see one, but someone listened to my prayers. :-)))
And the answer was YES! I'll let you know what he said after my appt. Also
having an MRI done on my head tomorrow evening. Will let you know the
results after my May 1st appt. with my GP. Take care everyone and I hope
you all have as pain-free day/night as can be. Hope that sounded right.

Wow! That was fast!
Even here in the states it is hard to get an appointment with a rheumy
that quickly.
Happy that you have the appointment and sure hope it is someone that you
like, can work with, and can help with some answers.
What is the MRI for? Are they looking for something specific?
Definitely keep us posted and start making notes, now, for the rheumy
appointment in a month..
I'll have to dig up Dr. Docs site that made suggestions on how to
prepare for a first appointment with a rheumatologist. We used t post
that here all the time when this group was so active in this forum.
May have to go online to FB and see if any of them can remember the addy
for Dr. Docs site. Think it would be helpful for you.
You'll want to keep track of whether or not you have stiffness and if
so, for how long and is it just in the a.m., etc.
Do you get joint swelling, and if so, where and how long does it last.
What helps it, what makes it worse. Etc.

Thank you so much Donna. :-) Yes, I cannot believe it was this fast. I
thought for sure I'd be waiting months and months. So far, I have no joint
swelling, but pain more often than not. I have really small lumps of bone
in my finges and wrists. Then I have a bone or rib that's bigger on the
left side than it is on the right. Seems to have jutted out some time last
Sept./Oct. Some times it hurts so I'll be showing him that one too. It's
hard to explain exactly where the small bumps of bone are. I fractured my
right wrist 5 yrs. ago and it's been hurting me for the past several months,
just like I fractured it before, except is doesn't hurt continuously like
when I really did fracture it. I have some lumps around my wrists and some
times it is soooo painful to pick up a pot, dish, etc., and peel apples or
potatoes, etc. I can't bend it toward the left without feeling a lot of
pain there. Don't worry, I have everything covered for the appt. :-) I
also get muscle spasms on and off in my feet, shins, calves and thighs. I
also get some cramps in my hands and fingers. Some other places too, but
not very often. Oh, the MRI is to check for possible M.S. I'm having it
done tonight at 8:45. Weird time, eh? I wish they had a much earlier
appt., but when the woman called and said she had an opening for that time,
I just said yes and took it. LOL She said it should only take about 20
mins. and, of course, they might not be on time. Oh well. We can sleep a
little later in the morning if we get home really late, which I suspect we
will. Thanks for the help and asking about me. Take care of yourself!

get help like that in London. We have OHIP here, but still it takes awhile
and some times a long time before you can see a specialist. Especially
