I think you have an idea here Dennis, but if I may, I'd like to make a
suggestion. In case anyone doesn't know, or remember, I am one of the
moderators of ASAPM.
A closed Facebook group would be just that, closed. Unless someone had a
Facebook account (there are still those of us that are not on Facebook),
and was invited, they wouldn't know about it or be able to find it.
I would suggest you create a open, moderated Google or Yahoo group. The
advantage here is that it would be in a directory and searchable. You
could allow anyone to post and have those posts moderated, and then you
could allow people to join and have those posts moderated or not, etc.
I would be willing to help you get something like that started, if
you're interested. You would want to choose Yahoo or Google, and there
are pro's and con's to each, pick a name, decide who the initial owners
and moderators would be, etc.
I would also recommend you do something similar to what we did when we
started ASAPM with the Charter and Guidelines. You don't have to be that
formal, but a written set of guidelines that group moderators follow
make it much easier to resolve any issues with what is or isn't
acceptable posting in the future.
Something else you may want to consider is just looking around Google
and Yahoo groups to see what is already out there. I have not looked but
there may be active anxiety related groups that already exist and you
wouldn't need to recreate the wheel, so to speak.
Let me know what you think.
