I have been curious about an issue with panic disorder. I have noted the
symptoms involved from DSM-IV concerning Panic Attacks, one of which is
dizziness. I tend to get a feeling more of falling, which is perhaps what
is being described, rather than a feeling of actual spinning room, etc.
Do others on this list that have panic attacks get a sense of falling
either during or before an attack?
It becomes a chicken-egg question at times for me in the sense that the
timing of the attack seems to come after this falling feeling.

Thanks for your help.

There are many different ways of describing the same thing. The trick is to
recognize what is happening to you no matter what you call it.

I think there are many ways to describe the same thing, and during a panic
attack it can be hard to come up with the correct word to describe what you
are feeling. I mean, what's really the difference between feeling dizzy and
feeling like you are falling? If you get dizzy enough you will fall down.
