I miss my mom too, and especially on Christmas. She died in 2000 shortly
after Christmas in fact. Every now and then the thought of her just comes
into my head, and I feel her loss very keenly. When that happens, it may
sound crazy, but I talk to her as though she were there. Somehow it helps.

"Even as a mother protects with her life her only child, So with a boundless
heart let one cherish all living beings." --Sutta Nipata 1.8
All we can do is cherish the days we have with loved ones, because
life has an element of randomness, and things happen to people that no
one "deserves".
Take care, cherish the memories

Christmas Carols are difficult to listen to without crying but we are
entitled to a tear or two!
I found two Christmas taper candles when I was clearing out my
brother-in-law's house after he passed. (Sis passed several years ago.)
I took a photo of Sis and BIL, a photo of Mom and Dad and talked to each
of them tonight. Then I lit a taper for each couple. I will let the
candles burn until I go to bed then say goodnight to them.
The sadness is still there but I know that it will fade somewhat as the
days, months and years go by.
Hugs to all of you -
Lynn
