memantine & side-effects

I apologize -- this post doesn't refer specifically to Alzheimer's, but rather to one of the agents used to treat it (Memantine). Since the drug is indicated for Alzheimer's, it's really difficult to find first-hand, subjective reports of side-effects etc. on the internet.
I'm in fact trialing the drug for severe OCD (a condition in which its shown some therapeutic promise). This is my second time on the drug. The first time I tried doses ranging from 5mg-15mg, but only noticed an increase in anxiety which wouldn't abate, despite remaining at each dose for around 2 weeks.
This time around, I simply went straight to 20mg to see if there would be any difference in effect. Today is the fourth day and once again I'm noticing that I'm slightly more agitated and anxious.
I was curious if anyone knew whether these side-effects might pass with more time?
