If you are interested in a domestic adoption under $10,000 and a healthy
infant. Go to a nice reputable local private agency such as Catholic,
Lutheran Soc. Services, or any agency that has United Way funding. Get on
the waiting list regardless of how discouraging they sound, it doesn't take
as long as they will tell you. Most couples who get on these lists have
babies from other means and drop off the lists fairly quick. I'd bet the
estate...you'll have a homestudy with in 18 months, then it's all a matter
of how well you sell yourself to potential birth mothers. Sit back and be
ready to wait between 2-4 years. Be patient, it's worth the wait. This is
the most sensible and soundest way to adopt a baby domestically, and
through this route think what you'll be doing to help adoption be a
win/win/win solution!
