I had CABGx5 AVR done June, 2002

Since that time, I have resumed a relatively normal life. Significantly
better than before June, 2002, that's for sure.

From time to time, I would like to talk with others about this, and perhaps
help someone who is facing this.

So, I searched for a newsgroup, or was willing to form one.

And then, I found this one.

This one seems to be made up of a small portion of people who actually are
interested in the subject, and then a portion of people with sick senses of
humor. I actually find them totally devoid of all humor, but in the
interest of kindness, shall concede they do have some sort of sense of humor
no matter how sick it is.

Have I described the newsgroup accurately? Am I in the right place to get
and give opinion/advice? I know when I was going through this, I didn't
have any support mechanism. I guess I did alright, but would have liked to
have done it a little different.

Well, yes, that is the intended purpose of this group. But there's very
little activity here. Apparently a while back, before my time, most
folks moved the discussion over to the sci.med.cardiology group. That
one's supposed to be aimed at the science and research of cardiology,
but it's not very strict. You're welcome to hold out here for a response
or try the other group where the likelyhood of support is much greater.
