Sydney Penny: Whatever happened to her?

Uhmm ... I know she's not a supermodel, but this seemed to
be the best place to ask.

Whatever happened to the actress Sydney Penny: she played
the young girl in _The _Thornbirds_ (1983) and was in the
Clint Eastwood moveie _Pale_Rider_ (1985). After that she
was in some SF kids movie (@1986). Since then she doesn't
seem to have been in anything. Although she must have been
just a teenager (or perhaps younger) in the above films, she
was incredibly pretty and I can't believe that she just
stopped being an actress thereafter.

Any info would be great---thanks in advance.

Check out the soap operas. If you're talking about who I think you are,
I'm certain I've seen her on one of them, though I don't know which. I
don't actually watch them, I just do too much channel surfing.

Actually, I was thinking about her today (Pale Rider is on NBC Friday night).
I haven't seen her anywhere since Pale Rider so I'm not sure what she's been
doing. She's a very beautiful girl indeed. Does she have a native American
background ?
