If we are to die and be annihilated, then why have we been created?
Why do we live here? Do we live for devouring?
Do we live for marrying and pleasure? Do we live for travelling
places? Do we live for hoarding things that one day we will leave and
go? Is there any meaning in them if we are finally to die and be
annihilated?

There was a lion tamer who was out late one night, and instead of going

Hmmm, social networking for mystics seeking oneness? Doesn't this
seem a bit superfluous?

Besides a real Sufi would avoid any and all platforms like the plague.

I think platforms are okay as long as they don't have trapdoors. And
come to think of it, they need to have an open ceiling. Nothing to
throw a rope over.

Anyway, there is nothing wrong with intermingling. You get to know
about virtual virtue before you have to recognize it IRL. Very useful.

Howdy Dan, I was thinking of the idea of a platform being not so much
something of support, but more of an agenda, as used in, say, the
term, a political platform.

Sufis (imo) don't need agendas, they invent their way moment to
moment.

Eric, spot on!!! My favorite "definition" of Sufism from Shah is, "It
is a body of knowledge."

Jesus invented his way, moment to moment. It was someone else's agenda
that caused the problems.

I live in the US where political platforms are a dime a dozen, and
candidates never read them anyway. They certainly don't follow them.
W. ran for president as a "Compassionate Conservative". I see no
evidence of either.

Seen from outside the US it is really quite baffling how such a dud
could be elected, and how an able person like Rice could be in his tent.

If I were to be honest, it makes no more sense from inside the US. Rice
and W. have a long history, which is the only explanation.
