Seems to me, Iran (Shiism) wants the bomb (military might) less to
fight the West (Israel) and more to be able to win Mecca from the
Saudis. For over a thousand years Muslims have been fighting to
establish their personal tribal system unto the entire "uma" or
community of Islam. The desire to free Jerusalem might be forefront,
but the real goal is Mecca, imo.
