Up until now, I have given SUPERLINK.NET the benefit of doubt. Not
anymore! They truly are a SPAMMING SITE!

I finally got Jeffrey Jing on the phone. (He apparently has some
authority at SUPERLINK.NET.) He admitted to me that they have no
policy against newsgroup spamming. He said that he would only take
action if one of their staff did the spamming. He said he wasn't
able to police his users since there are hundreds of them. (Gee, AOL
has millions of users and they seem to do a pretty good job.) He did
say, however, that they would be "implementing something" soon to
deal with the problem. But the way he talked, it would be some
automated thing that would limit the number of posts or something. I
got the impression that he wouldn't regulate postings based on
content. (Hey Jeff if you're reading this I have a suggestion: Read
your flippin' e-mail that me and dozens of others have been sending
you! We have given you information so you can trace the abusers.)

Now, I am receiving unsolicited e-mail from that site. *UGH*!!! I
can only hope that the e-mail marketers out there are not reading
this...They will jump on SUPERLINK like flies on shit!

If you're as fed up as I am with SUPERLINK, give Jeff a call:

908-828-8988

Let him know that you are angry that they have no policy against
newsgroup spamming and unsolicited e-mail. Try to be as professional
as you can, but make sure that he knows you are angry! (I told him
that I've never seen a service provider as irresponsible as
SUPERLINK. I also told him that his site is getting a reputation as
a spamming site. This seemed to get his attention. He told me that
he would be sure to bring up my comments at their next staff
meeting.)

Also, send a professionally written letter to UUNET (he...@uu.net).
Or better yet, send them snail mail:

UUNET Technologies, Inc.
3060 Williams Drive Ste 601
Fairfax, VA 22031
USA

They are the hub that SUPERLINK is using. Let them know how much of
a problem SUPERLINK has become on the newsgroups. Also, provide as
much documentation as you can. Tell them how many e-mails you've
sent SUPERLINK and when. Also, tell them that you have never
received any response. (BTW, has ANYBODY received e-mail back from
SUPERLINK?)

Please everybody, if you want SUPERLINK to get their act together
let your voice on this matter be heard! Call Jeff, and send that
letter to UUNET!

That's enough for me. I submit that it's time for UDP.

I have also spoken to someone who identified himself as the 'owner' of
Superlink. He told me that they had no prohibitions on spamming, nor did
they intend to do so in the future.

Jason, I thought for a brief moment that *you* had posted a -gasp! -
spam advertisement! (See how we have been conditioned into reflex anger
by chronic spammers?) How relieved I was to find that, instead, you were
still on the side of all things good and light, and were offering an
anti-spam program that even had the anti-commercial property of being
FREE. Now, if only someone would offer an anti-spam tool for the
Macintosh format... sigh. Even Agent doesn't seem to be available for
the Mac. Almost makes me wanna buy a PC. I did leave a suggestion on
Netscape's website asking that Navigator being tweaked to include kill
filters, or that kill filter plug-ins be offered, etc.
A news browser without spam filters is like a day without sunshine...
