Hi Peeps, i have a bit of a problem.

Firstly i upgraded from Vst 3.5 to VST/32 5.0 about a year or so ago

My PC crashed last week and i've tried re-installing Cubase but i couldn't
find the serial number, so i eneterd my old 3.5 serial number (for some
reason i know this off the top of my head!) but when i run cubase it tells
me i am using the old 3.5 dongle, when i know i am not as i returned the old
red dongle in exchange for the nice blue one i now have!

Is it a case that i'm entering a 3.5 serial number on installation and that
is the problem? If so can anyone mail me a 5.0 Serial Reg? I'm sure i'll be
able to get one from Arbiter on Monday but i've got the whole week-end to
spare and wanted to play in the studio!

Thanks

Karl

I lost my credit card the other day, and the bank said it'll take them a
week to give me a new one.

In the mean time, can someone mail me their credit card number so I can
keep buying things without having to wait for the bank??

OOoooooh. Get you!
lol. But I do think this was a reasonable request as if he is using without
a dongle he'd have a hacked version which would give him the serial...

True. So why not tell him?
Any 9 digits beginning with 11 will do.

And what about the keys of a nice red F40 with a black horse and a yellow
sky ?

Nah.. Neither of the two copies of VST/32 v5 I have here start with an 11.
Not a Golden Rule, me thinks...

Thanks for that, it has now installed properly.

I will contact Steinberg during the week to find out my real number, but in
the meantime thanks to all of you that didn't think i was a hacker/cracker.

Cheers

In which case I suspect yours isn't VST32. There's a different pair
of digits for plain Cubase and for Cubase Score. Score is 07. I
forget what plain Cubase is. 0-something.

I said digits not characters.

But I'm not sure if Cubase checks that the rest are in fact digits.
Maybe yours would work. :-) Anyone tried?

Out of interest, what do they start with?

I believe some registration cards were printed with a leading zero,
causing considerable confusion. Or are we maybe talking Mac, not
PC?

Both are PC. They start with 64nnnnnnnn.

These are flagship upgrades that can trace their lineage from Pro24 thru
Cubase (ST) thru VST/24 to VST/32 (PC).
