Looks very nice.
In a parallel universe sort of way.
But in time I'll get myself the DVD.
BTW, that was a planet collapsing wasn't it? Some sort of black hole
device? Maybe a Romulan warbird flew into it. They have a singularity in
stead of a matter/anti-matter reactor.

No, after seeing it a second time it was a beam...
Well, the beam itself could have created a singularity...

Yes. I saw that. If that's a Romulan weapon, this could be very bad for
the Warsie crowd.

Indeed. Else you would run out of ships very soon.
If indeed it is an artificial black hole created it is probably a small one
that disappears very quickly after it's done. And more efficient. No need
for a bulky flashy device to blow up a planet and no worries about all that
debris flying around.
If you want to build a planet killer this is the way to go.
Of course this is all speculation thus far.

Yeah, Tyralak already talked about this but in terms of previous canon
sources I'd say all bets are off.

And this is looking less and less like a bad thing, anyway.

I remain cautiously optimistic. The second weekend in May is one of the
worst weekends to open a blockbuster during the summer season (first
weekend in May till the first or second weekend in August). It could be
a great movie, and it should make $100 million domestically, but I doubt
it will make much more than that.

Thanks,

Yeah, I kind of wondered about the May opening myself. This looks like
it's going to be a proper reboot. From what I can glean from the
interviews and the trailers, Nero does something to the timeline. Spock
goes back to fix it. He's unable to repair it all, and so the result is
an altered future. This altered timeline can result in a new series,
perhaps several. TOS could be remade in this timeline, as could any new
series.

It's really hard to tell from the trailer. As we all know, trailers can
be deceiving.
