I think Star Trek is deader than Star Wars!!!

The new Star Trek movie will be a colossal box
office bomb and then Star Trek will die for good.

Star Wars, however, still has a TV show and
lots of computer games, so Star Wars is still
alive.

RIP Star Trek!!!

On the other hand I think the break taken by the owners of Star Trek between
the Enterprise series and the new movie will be very beneficial. Taking a
step back and making a fresh movie without doing anything silly is the key
to the success or failure of this venture.

Sadly, the quality of said TV show (like the prequels) is vastly less
than the original trilogy. Nor do games make a franchise (see Elite
Force, a good computer game, but one that did jack shit to redeem
Voyager).

And the new Star Trek movie actually looks like one I'd like to see in
a theatre (not something I could have said for any of the other Star
Trek movies that Berman and Braga presided over).
