Warriors of KAG Kanada,

This is your new Senior Command Officer speaking.
I send greetings from Calgary, the former Command Center for KAG
Kanada. I didn't want to wait until I had returned to Ottawa before
addressing our membership. I wish to state how impressed I was with
everyone who was able to attend GalaxyFest in Vulcan to help us
celebrate our 20th Anniversary. As you have no doubt seen, we made
quite an impression. We have already had several links to newspaper
articles posted, you can probably expect quite a few more. In
addition to the newspaper coverage, several of our members had on
camera interviews with international news agencies such as the BBC,
CBC, G4, Global, and CTV plus several local cable channels. At one
point everywhere I turned I was looking at a member of KAG Kanada
being interviewed on camera for a news agency or by a newspaper, to
each of those warriors I congratulate you and hope enjoyed the
experience.

On top of the news coverage our "room party" has gotten so popular
that this year it was held in the town Legion so as to accommodate
everyone. I can't begin to state what a thrill it was to have Barbara
March and Alan Scarfe attend our party and be inducted as Warnog
Warriors. Both guests thoroughly enjoyed the warnog and especially
the Throne of Kahless. The decorations for the party were outstanding
and I wish to thank and congratulate everyone who pitched in with the
decorations, you all did a fantastic job. Special thanks go out to
Dayna Dickens and the town of Vulcan for providing us with the Legion
hall for our party, to Stacey and Cricket for co-ordinating the
efforts of the team, to Wade Kelly for providing the lion's share of
the decorations, and to the IKV Swifthawk for providing several of the
flags and banners.

For those of you who were unable to attend, you missed out on a great
weekend. The three Klingon ladies were an absolute joy to spend time
with as were Alan and Lolita. Five members of KAG Kanada took part in
the Shave a Klingon event to raise money for kids with cancer. I can’t
begin to describe how much fun or what a thrill it was to have
Barbara, Gwynyth and Alan do the shearing. For pictures of the event
be sure to check out the KAG Kanada Fan page on Facebook.

In addition to all the exciting events, KAG Kanada had our 20th annual
Grand Assembly, where a great number of honorifics, promotions, awards
and commendations were handed out to our members, these will be
announced in a separate post. KAG Kanada also held the change of
command for the Q’Oneqo Squadron, the Ice Dragon Fleet, the Steel Fist
Fleet and of course the Senior Command Officer.

• Congratulations to Captain Denake zantai-Shiy'Mok, OKE, KAD, IS;
the new Squadron Commander for the Q’Oneqo Squadron. Deb, we all
know you will bring great honour to the post and wish you a long and
successful Command
• Congratulations to Captain Maelgwn zantai-Y'Ddraig Goch, OKE , KAD ,
IS
the new Ice Dragon Fleet Commander. Digger your loyalty and
dedication have earned you this post and the members of the club wish
you the best in your new Command
• Congratulations to Colonel K’tallia zantai-Y'Ddraig Goch, OKE
the new Steel Fist Fleet Commander. Lori, your leadership qualities
and people skills will carry you far in your new post as KAG Kanada’s
youngest Fleet Commander in our 20 year history.

As many of you were aware Admiral K'Obol zantai-Chang-K'Onor, GTKE,
KAD was slated to take over the duties of Senior Command Officer,
however he has opted to explore cultural development issues and is
taking over the Imperial Civil service, and as a result will also act
as the new Operations Master for Imperial Intelligence. With the
Abbot unable to take on the role of Senior Command Officer, I have
stepped forward at the request of Thought Admiral (Ret’d) Qel’Iv
epetai-Satir, GTKE, KAD, IS and Admiral K'Obol zantai-Chang-K'Onor,
GTKE, KAD and have assumed the duties of that office. I wish to thank
the members of the Steel Fist Fleet for all you have done during my
tenure as Fleet Commander and I am extremely honoured to serve our
club as SCO. As our recently retired Thought Admiral once told me,
“Never take on a Command without setting up your replacement”; so
following his sage advice, I now appoint Colonel K’tallia zantai-
Y'Ddraig Goch, OKE as my Deputy.

Warriors our first twenty years have been glorious, and this weekend
was the time for looking back, but it is now time to set our sights on
the future. I would like us all to start planning our 25th
Anniversary. To ensure that all of our members feel a part of this
process your Fleet Commanders will begin putting together a committee
to come up with ideas for our Silver Anniversary. I hope that our
newest recruits will volunteer to pitch in and work side-by-side with
our 20 year veterans so that we can have even more fun and top the
great accomplishments achieved in Vulcan this weekend.

Kai Kassai KAG Kanada !!!
