Unless Vulcan women endure it at different intervals than men!
James
Then we run into other issues as well if they say the women have it at
different intervals. I would think the intervals would be the same so
that they could mate every 7yrs, if not you have men going into Ponn
Far and the women not responding because they arn't.
It would make more sense that women don't go into Ponn Far and
basically wait for the men.
Unless of course Vulcan society is less inhibited and the men or women
can mate with the opposite sex (or same sex) outside the marriage to
solve the Ponn Far issue if they don't have the same interval. I
would think the Ponn Far issue would be somthing that would have to
match up before the marriage is persued so they don't run into this
issue. Of course love could cause this to happen but since the Vulcans
don't experience love(at least they say they don't) this explanation
does really work either.
Any other ideas?
No women were mentioned.

Either way, Earth mammals have some form of heat to indicate sexual
readiness, generally in the female.
So, think biologically here. Imagine the gender that goes into heat is
reversed for Vulcans, that the male goes into heat, and the female responds
accordingly at the biological signals. (In Earth mammals, that tends to be a
pheromone thing. Figure out whatever you like for Vulcans.)

Well. Theoretically.

The logical equivalent of the conversation so far....
Terry
"Star Trek III said males have a penis."
Keeper of the Purple Twilight
"Exactly, no mention of women so women have penises too."
Lucas "who would never say 'exactly' and then state that it means the
exact opposite of what was said and why it was quoted" Bachmann
Finally a good solution. Since her Pon Farr was brought about by disease
this is very possible. She didn't mention this because as she said "We
dont' speak about it"

Koss must be a rather angry fellow then. :-)

The problem I'm having with all this is the base example set by
T'Pring in "Amok Time". SHE sure didn't appear to be rolling on the
floor panting.
