UFED Star Trek Role Playing

Space... exciting and new. Come aboard, we're expecting you! Journey with
the crew of Pennsylvania and explore the furthest reaches of the unexplored
Gamma Quadrant.
Role playing in UFED is a unique and exciting experience. The Pennsylvania
grew up from within the UFED family and now shares the vastness of cyber
space with several other well conceived UFED games. The UFED has really
been an excellent experience over all. I've spent the past 6 years role
playing on and off with some very talented creative writers.
It isn't often you can find a handful of people who share the same creative
vision you do. Over the past 6+ years, I've had the distinct pleasure of
not only enjoying a writing festival but I've made some very good friends.
We often get involved in group activities because of the distinct attraction
to a specific activity within that group. In this case, it was the ability
to use my creative writing talents and do so in a somewhat sheltered
environment. If you're a Trek fan, you'll understand when I say that we're
looked upon by the "main stream" as being different. We're the "get a life"
group.
The simple fact is that more than 60% of the adult population is a Star Trek
fan - whether in or out of the closet! Taking part in UFED helped me to
really explore who I am and learn to accept me for what I am. It also
helped me to relate to others from around the world.
The world for me was an area of about 100 miles x 100 miles before I entered
the realm of Star Trek role playing. Since, I've learned to become more
diversified. I've learned to become more open-minded. I've learned that
others in the world have the same dreams and fears that I do. Mostly, I've
learned to be more tolerant.
People have always desired to put their inner most feelings in writing.
From the stone walls to the modern PDA, we still communicate in a similar
fashion, thousands of years later. Writing is a part of us - a legacy. We
become immortal through writing.
Although what I'm saying has little to do with the USS Pennsylvania
specifically, I wanted to share my appreciation to the UFED; its membership;
the friends I've made over the years; the writers I've interacted with, even
if briefly and mostly to those who had the vision to create a "wagon train
to the stars". Thank you Star Trek for a lifetime of enjoyment!
I only hope that my children's generation will be able to leave a legacy
behind for their grand children's generation, which will have the same
valued impact that Star Trek has had on two plus generations of humans and
others!
Now, I would like to invite you to experience the zeal and zest of being a
part of such a legacy. I'd like to invite you to be a player on the USS
Pennsylvania or one of the UFED's other fine ships. The only requirement
for membership is an open-mind and a desire to share a part of yourself in a
new and unique way. Don't be afraid. You're among friends.
