I am interested in stories about all four shows, serious and humorous, dramatic
and romantic. The couples that particularly intrigue me are:
Picard/Crusher
Worf/Troi
Worf/Dax
Bashir/O'Brien
Janeway/Chakotay
Paris/Torres
However, let me say again -- I'm not only interested in romantic-themed fic.
Throw those suggestions out there! You'll probably make a fic writer really
happy when she (or he) sees a story mentioned --

Before you buy.
I also very much enjoy Dangermom and Jammelia's Paris/Torres stories.
And while I'm rarely enthusiastic about faiction centering on an
original character (never midn I write 'em too...) TerriTrek's "Shadows"
series is undeniable well written. And I am very much a fan of Jenn
("Manipulation", "In the Space fo Seven Days", etc.). Again, my faves
have to be well crafted, well plotted, and well-written to earn my seal
of approval, and this lady certainly has done that.

I guess my current favorite W/D fanfic are "Coping" and "For My
Parmach'Kai", both by Trillgirl (found at the Archive).
http://members.dencity.com/wdfa
For Odo/Kira fanfic, anything by Tracy Hemenover, especially "Clarity"
and her novelization of "Necessary Evil."

Easy: "Old Pain, New Memories" by Judith Medina. It's on the ASC archive site,

If Dax means Jadzia, follow what Seema said and run to the WDFA....lots of great
stuff there. Personal faves "After the Storm" by Katia, Naomi's "Immortal Beloved"
and "The Regent" (whose author escapes me at the moment). If Dax means (God
forbid) Ezri, another great story by Seema is on the WDFA, I'm pretty sure. Think
it's called "Letting Go". Also my Net-less friend wrote a "Penumbra" story which
is posted here: http://www.50megs.com/rubycat/carly.html

Lordy, lordy.....so so many here! Umm....absolute stayed-with-me forever personal
fave has to be "Drowning" by Your Cruise Director (more commonly known as YCD).
her page is here: http://www.dc.net/tigger. And if you're looking for wicked DS9,
try her Dukat/Winn stories! I gave into temptation and whoa! Dramatic to the max!
> Paris/Torres
alot here too....I will play favorites again. D'Alaire's "You Know" and "Lullaby",
the PTC Loony Archivist's "Would You, Could You", DangerMom's "The Course of True
Love", Julie's "Denim Blues" PWP's, which I think are posted here:
http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/Academy/4813, and I can't forget Ronnie's stuff
either. Check out "Desideratum" on the PTC.
if it's Odo/Kira, ye gods and Prophets, I really COULD go on forever! As Tasha
said, one of the highest overall qualities of fanfic is in that pairing. Personal
faves:
"Basilisk" by Carolyn Fulton (the "stuck with me" one, drama to the max--but you
might want to read the prequel "Dreams Into Waking" first)
"Third Moon Rising" also by Carolyn (just TOO priceless when Shakaar....oops--don't
want to spoil it for you :-)
Cath Allan's Pit Saga - humor, kids and more!
and then there's the (other) O/K story that's stuck with me since the very day I
first read it - Greenwoman's "Reconsider Me". The characters are written
flawlessly, the dialogue flows, and the drama and angst is just so believable, it's
almost like watching Auberjonois and Visitor onscreen. *sigh*
well this should be enough...if you need anything else--feel free to email me.
Cheile
Since I don't choose the stories I read based on pairings, I'm dividing
my personal favorites into series:
TNG (sort of--Q, mostly) -- "Only Human" by Alara (although it's unfinished)
DS9 -- "Kalevian Montar" by Marlissa Campbell (and if you like that one,
also try "Skin Deep" and "Wormwood"); "Oswiecim" by Gabrielle Lawson
VOY -- "Talking Stick" and "Walking Across Egypt" by Macedon (you'll
probably want to go ahead and read the entire Talking Stick/Circle
series, but these 2 are, IMO, by far the best); "A Single Act of
Compassion" by m.c. moose (oh, hell, just go read everything she's ever
written); Sharon Nuttycomb's "Wraiths" trilogy (although, I regret to
confess, I've forgotten the titles of the individual stories themselves)
Macedon also wrote a MIS story, the title of which I have also
forgotten, about a Vulcan-human relationship. It's a gut-clencher, but
*damn* good. Can anyone help me with the title, please?
If my memory every decides to function again, I may be able to come up
with a few more titles. Don't hold your breath, though :-)
Laura
Okay; I can't for the life of me remember the title OR the author of my
all-time favorite fanfic, because I'm having a brain freeze. LAURA! HELP!
It's a K/Du by a really brilliant French/British woman (why can't I remember
her name???) set on the appropriated Klingon ship; Kira and Dukat spend the
night walking the halls, meeting minds, exchanging quips in high Bajoran and
trying not to give in to their desires. It's a FABULOUS, FABULOUS story.
Laura! Help me. I know you know what I'm talking about because she was on
the H&S list with us.
Which leads me to, "The Serpent and the Hawk," another fabulous K/Du by our
own Laura Taylor. If you haven't read this you're missing something.
Then, of course, as Laura said, the "Talking Stick" and "Circle" stories by
Ruth and Macedon are really brilliant work too.
For VOY fic, anything by Charlene Vickers (especially her Paris slash).
For O/K, anything by Carolyn Fulton -- she is truly the queen of Odo/Kira
fic. Oddly enough, I can't find her work online anymore -- does anyone know
where it's gone?
A ha! I remembered! Her name is Ariana, and the story is called "Halfway."
The, uh, K/Du I mentioned above. I didn't want to just go up and change
it -- that felt like cheating. But go FIND THIS STORY. It is fabulous.
Anyone know where it is?
Ummmm...I'm sure there are SO many more, but, as I've said, I haven't been
to ASC in about a year, so my poor old brain's just warming up... :)
Go read "Halfway." By the time you're done, I'll remember more.
Cheers,
Sabine

Well let's see:
"Chekov's Enterprise" has already been mentioned, but I'll mention it
again. Very very good.
"Osweicim" by Gabrielle Lawson. Bashir gets stranded in 1943
Auschwitz. Very moving and very harrowing. Excellent!
"Glimmer" by KyRoka. Major Kira has been killed, and Odo gives her a
final gift. Touching and surprising.
"Goodnight, Doctor" by Elizabeth Wallace. Garak gives Bashir a very
distressing message. Sad and dark.
"In the Dark" by Julia Kosatka & Kelly Matthews-Simmons.
TNG/X-Files/Highlander XOver. Duncan MacLeod falls in love with a
mysterious stranger named Guinan in the 1990's. 400 years later...
Complex and entertaining.
"The Photogenic Captain" by Rebecca Anderson. Captain John Harriman
has to deal with his massive guilt over Kirk's death. A side to the
man almost 180 degrees from "Chekov's Enterprise", but no less
compelling.
"A Birthday Gift for Christine" - Spock gives Nurse Chapel something
very special for her birthday. Awwwww! 8-] Seriously, it *is* a very
touvhing story.
"Nicked" by Rob Morris. Tom Paris and his identical cousin, Nick
Locarno, have an interesting conversation. (Also, check out Rob's
"Ancient Destroyer" & "Starting Over" series)
"The Bell Rang" by SpareTurtle. A tribute to the passing of Dr.
Leonard H. "Bones" McCoy. And if I absolutely, positively, 100%
didn't cry when I read this - well, maybe a little.
"Canaan" by Helmboy. Voyager finally returns - to a surprisingly
hostile reception. Very long, but worth the read.
There are also a few series of shorts stories you might check out,
including "PythonTrek" (various authors, but most of them are fall
down funny); Paul Gadzikowski's T*R*E*K, featuring the crew from the
4077th MASH on board the original USS Enterprise; Rob Morris's Remixes
(and when can we expect some more, Rob?); and Sydvick/Istannor's
"Doctor's Logs"/"Spock's Logs"/"Dear Sam" series.
If you want any of these, I probably have them, or at least can tell
you where you can get them.

Let me see... I'm afraid I don't read Worf/Dax or Worf/Troi, but for P/C I

Okay, as Index Maintainer, I'll try to hit those rare gems that I think are
being missed. We'll start with a little TOS.
The Romulan Dawn Series. Really good Action/Adventure with good characters
set on the Enterprise-B. I really wish the author was still around.
The Best DS9 story I have ever read is Gabreille Lawson's Oswiecim For
weeks I've been trying to review this story, and I can't seem to put the
words to do the story justice.
For Voyager, the often mentioned and praised "Talking Stick/Circle" Series
by Macedon (Little Otter) and Peg Robinson.

A Dream Upon Waking
by Cindy Wright
Jean Luc looked up from his padd curiously as the door to his quarters
swished open to admit his chief medical officer. His eyes followed her
as she crossed the room, passing his desk without even a glance,
wearily stripping off her lab coat and dropping it on the closest chair
with a resigned sigh. Without a word, she continued on into his
bedroom. He watched as she paused in the doorway, one hand resting on
the wall as she used the other to reach down and pull off her right
boot. It came off with a bit of a struggle and she bent down with two
hands to take off the left boot. This one proved even more recalcitrant
and she hurled it across the room with a grunt. She paid it no heed as
the boot struck one of Jean Luc's artifacts, sending it to the floor
with a thud. Tugging at her uniform fastening until it broke and gave
way, she headed toward the bath chamber, disappearing from view.
Jean Luc sat back in his chair, observing the scene before him. He had
grown increasingly used to Beverly's moods over the years, the angry
outbursts, the righteous indignation, the petulant self-confidence, he
took them all in stride now. Outbursts that would have sent a lesser
man running for cover no longer gave him pause. He knew Beverly to be a
passionate woman and withstanding her occasional storms came with the
territory.
He smiled as he thought of some of the battles they had waged over the
years. A few brought them very close to the edge, tested their
friendship to the breaking point. But he would gladly be her sounding
board, sparring partner or punching bag. Gladly share in the rough
times if meant having all of her.
But this, this mood that he still couldn't put a name to, truly scared
him. At first he thought it was guilt. Guilt over losing a patient,
over a missed diagnosis or a wrong course of treatment. Beverly had
very high expectations of herself and hated even the notion of failure.
Her aversion to failure had become a well known fact among those who
worked closely to her. But experience had proven that it was something
more, something deeper. And it was something he could do nothing about.
If Beverly would some how take it out on him, he could deal with it,
but the way she beat herself up and refused to let him share her burden
left him feeling helpless, impotent, useless, back on the outside all
over again.
He knew why she hadn't acknowledged him when she walked in, why she had
gone straight to the shower. She didn't want him to see her crying, to
see her break down, to see her pain. No matter how much she shared with
him, that was the one part of her that was still off limits and that
was why these moods scared him so much. He was afraid one day she would
suffer an emotional wound so great that she would shut him out
entirely. He resolved to find a way to reach her before it came to
that.
As the sound of the shower droned on, Jean Luc glanced at the
chronometer on his desk. She had been in their over twenty minutes.
"Computer, bring up the medical logs for the last 24 hours."
He leaned forward as he scanned the days logs: Ensign Mathias had a
rash, Lieutenant Rento had broken her arm in a training exercise, the
Alinan family had a new baby boy, all mundane entries until he reached
the last one. He called up a detailed report and cringed at the final
entry. Time of death: 18:42. That had been nearly two hours ago. He
looked toward the bedroom and ran his hands over his face trying to
massage away the scowl that he knew was forming in spite of himself. He
wanted to go into the bathroom, confront her, force her to share this
pain with him, but he knew from all too painful experience that course
of action would only make her build higher, thicker walls.
Instead, he powered down the computer on the desk and walked slowly to
the bedroom. He stripped off his uniform shirt, then his boots, pants
and boxer shorts, leaving them on the floor by the bed. For a split
second, standing there nude, just feet from the bathroom door, he
considered going to the shower, opening the door and slipping in beside
her, holding her while she cried, soothing her pain away. It was a
romantic fantasy. One in which he was a knight in shining armor who
could vanquish Beverly's demons with a single blow. But it was just
that, a silly fantasy that Beverly would have none of. So, instead he
pulled on a pair of clean boxers and a soft gray cotton T-shirt that he
knew Beverly was especially fond of and headed back to the living area
to wait.
Beverly appeared in the bedroom doorway quite a few minutes later, a
sad smile on her face. Jean Luc studied her, standing there wearing his
favorite bath robe, barefoot, hair still damp from the shower. What he
wouldn't give to take her in his arms and make her forget the very
existence of sick bay. Well, that would have to wait.
He rose and crossed to the replicator, ordering tea for himself and
warm milk for Beverly. He knew she hadn't eaten all day, but he also
knew an argument over her eating habits was inappropriate at best and
reason for her to storm back to her quarters at worst. It was strange
the way she always came to his quarters when she was most depressed,
yet she refused his attempts at comfort. Perhaps there *was* something
she wanted from him, but what?
The replicator produced two cups and he took them to the couch. Handing
one to Beverly, he settled on the couch next to her, putting his feet
on the low table as she had done. It suddenly struck him, as they sat
in silence, that most people would never imagine graceful, collected,
professional Beverly Crusher to be the type to put her feet up on the
Captain's furniture, but she seemed to have a knack for making herself
at home. In an odd way, he admired her for it, the comfort she seemed
to take in her body and its easy possession of space. He, on the other
hand, sometimes found it difficult to make himself at home, even in his
own quarters.
Time seemed to stop as the silence, comfortable and unchallenged, grew
long. Jean Luc stared into his tea until it grew cold, lost in thought,
not knowing what to say or do, simply waiting for Beverly to give him
some clue as to what she needed from him. Nothing he had done to
comfort her in the past seemed to work, so perhaps doing nothing would
yield answers.
After what must have been hours of sitting side by side, without so
much as a whisper, Beverly lifted her feet from the table, carefully
placing one and then the other on the floor with such deliberation that
Jean Luc could only wonder at what might follow. With equal
deliberation, she leaned forward and placed her empty cup on the table.
She paused a moment, studying it like it was some great work of
Berellian art. She then turned and did the same with Jean Luc's still
full tea cup.
Had he been holding it all this time? He found that he wasn't sure
whether it really had been hours or perhaps just minutes for his mind
had wandered near and far seemingly of its own volition.
With both cups arranged to her liking, Beverly turned to face Jean Luc
on the couch, bringing one leg up under her and settling back so that
her face was very near his. She seemed to hesitate for a moment, as if
considering whether to speak and then she leaned in closer and kissed
him gently on the lips, so gently he wasn't sure if he felt her lips
touch his or merely imagined it. He waited for something more, a deeper
kiss, but none was forthcoming.
"Thank you", she said, her voice barely more than a whisper.
He raised his eyebrows, posing a wordless question.
"For not asking what happened, for not trying to make it better, for
just, just . . . being."
Jean Luc looked down at her hand intertwining with his in her lap. Had
she taken it? He hadn't noticed. They hadn't touched all night. He was
determined to respect her boundaries so it must have been she who
initiated the contact. He allowed himself a small beacon of hope in
this darkness that was Beverly's agony. Perhaps this was what she had
come for, comfort on her own terms. How like her, he thought, how
absolutely true to the Beverly he loved so dearly.
When he looked into her eyes again, he saw that there was something
more. He gently squeezed her hand and rested his head on the back of
the couch, eyes closed, waiting for her to take the next step,
receiving but not pressing the issue. It wasn't long, a couple of
moments at most, before she curled herself against him, dropping her
head to his shoulder and snaking her arms around him.
She spoke without prompting, her voice quiet and strained, "He was so
young, not even three days old. It's so unfair, Jean Luc. I don't think
I will ever get used to this, delivering a baby and pronouncing him
dead all in the span of a few days. It's beyond what any human should
have to endure. His parents, the medical staff, everyone has ridden
this evil roller coaster of pain and hope for the last three days, only
to be derailed at the last moment. I thought we had him, I thought the
infection was under control, but it was just too much for his little
body to handle. I'm too old for this."
Just as suddenly as she began speaking, she fell silent again, as if
against her will. Jean Luc shifted slightly in the hope of bringing his
arm around her, but she suddenly sat up, placing her feet on the floor
once again. When she dropped her head into her hands, Jean Luc cursed
himself at driving her away once again. But she moved no further, made
no attempt to distance herself more. He watched as her shoulders began
to tremble, almost imperceptibly. Then the gates opened and she sobbed
in one long, painful, rattling intake of breath. She seemed to hold it
forever, trying to contain the pain, but failed. When she released her
breath in an even more violent sob, her body collapsed forward, curling
into a fetal position, almost striking her head on the coffee table
before her. She hugged her knees and buried her head in her arms.
Jean Luc was rooted to his spot on the couch. He know he should comfort
her some how, hold her, but his fear and astonishment would not allow
him to move. He watched, horrified, as Beverly's body was rocked by
sobs. He had never seen her lose control so completely.
Slowly, consciously, he took back the use of muscles, one by one. He
shifted forward on the couch next to her and leaned forward, covering
her back with his chest, dropping his head next to hers, mirroring her
position. Tentatively, he enfolded her in his arms, matching her
rocking motion, absorbing the tremors of her body with his own.
And they wept, she in agony and he in a perverse mix of pain and joy,
pain that she could hurt so deeply, so thoroughly, and joy that she
would share it with him.
When it passed, when the worst was over, Jean Luc sat up but Beverly
did not move. He knew this would be the hardest part, after the storm
passed. Would she be able to face him? Had anything really changed or
had she broken down against her will?
Looking at her with her head buried in her arms still resting her
knees, he knew there was only way to find out. Slowly, carefully, as if
he was afraid she might suddenly become aware of his presence, he
placed a hand on her back. When she didn't move, he began long, slow
gentle strokes, tracing the path of her spine, up one side and down the
other. In time, he was rewarded with a long, shaky sigh.
Slowly, Beverly sat up a bit, leaving her head bowed, using her hair to
shield her face. Her elbows rested heavily on her knees, her shoulders
hunched forward tensely, but she did not seem to mind his touch. Jean
Luc grew bolder, drawing one leg up to shift behind her on the couch,
he placed both hands on her shoulders, kneading them, moving down to
her upper arms, up to her neck and back in a slow deliberate rhythm.
"Mmmmmm"
He smiled. At last, she was coming back to him. "Good?"
"Very."
"Then I shouldn't stop?"
"Uh-uh."
Jean Luc continued his ministrations, imagining himself chasing the
demons of the past days out of her muscles, willing her to relax, to
let go. As he silently attended to her, he came to a slow realization
that this was why she had kept coming to him all these years. Not to be
told to eat more or to work less or to get more sleep. Just to be, to
feel a connectedness with him, to share her pain, not to make it go
away. It was like a door had opened and allowed him into a wondrous new
world.
His thoughts were brought back to the present by the cramps forming in
his hands. The robe was thick and impeding his efforts to get at the
deeper muscles in her neck. He traced the collar of the robe from the
back of her neck, down over her chest and began to gently part it.
"Jean Luc, no." He panicked as Beverly's hands came up to stop his,
holding them fast to the collar of the robe. "I can't, tonight, I
just . . I can't."
Jean Luc relaxed, understanding instantly. "Beverly," he began, his
voice low and warm, close to the thick veil of hair that concealed her
face, "this isn't about sex. Please know that I would never ask that of
you tonight. I just want to. . ." he paused in exasperation, searching
for the word or concept that would express what this meant to him. He
gave up, knowing there were no words for it, " I don't know exactly,
but it's definitely not sex."
He felt her hands relax against his. "Promise?"
"I promise."
With that, she released his hands and allowed him to pull the robe
open, exposing her shoulders and upper back to him. With the robe out
of the way, he returned to his work with a renewed fervor, working
deeply into her muscles, massaging the delicate pressure points in her
neck and shoulders. As he worked his way down her back, she leaned
forward, resuming her early position, resting her head fully on her
arms as they hugged her knees.
Looking at her uncomfortable position, Jean Luc frowned.
"Beverly."
No response.
He stilled his hands.
"Beverly."
Still no answer.
He shook her slightly.
"Beverly?"
"Hmm?"
"Are you sleeping?"
"Mm-hm."
"Let's go to bed."
"Done?"
"For now. We can pick up another time if you like."
"Okay."
He smiled at their lopsided conversation. He was used to more than mono-
syllabic answers from Beverly.
"Let's go sleepy." He slid her robe back up over her shoulders and
reached around to pull it closed. He helped her up off the couch,
sliding one arm behind her and supporting her elbow with the other. She
sniffled and unceremoniously used the sleeve of his favorite robe to
wipe her nose. Jean Luc couldn't contain a smile. Seeing her like this
was truly disarming.
At the entrance to the bedroom, she paused a moment, seeing for the
first time the havoc she had wrought earlier. Her clothes were
scattered in trail to the bathroom, Jean Luc's were still in a heap by
the bed. One of her boots was just inside the door and the other lay
across the room not far from the pieces of Jean Luc's Argollian peace
bowl. Jean Luc wondered why he didn't think to clean up the mess
earlier. Surely there was a good reason, but that time seemed ages away
and his recollection was fuzzy, like a dream upon waking.
Beverly nodded toward the broken artifact, "Sorry about that."
"S'okay."
He gave a her a squeeze and dropped a kiss on the top of her bowed
head. Absolved, Beverly left his embrace and went to the far side of
the bed. She dropped the robe on the floor and started to climb under
the covers when Jean Luc said, "You're kidding right?"
"What?"
"Are you sleeping like that?"
"Like what?"
"Like that, nude?"
"Oh, shouldn't I?"
"Not if you want me to keep my promise."
"You're right, give me your shirt."
"What?"
"Your shirt, take it off."
"Why?"
"So I'll have something to wear to bed."
"I can get you something."
"No, I don't want you to."
"Why?"
"Because I want to wear the shirt you have on. It's warm and it smells
like you and I want it, so take it off or I'll sleep in the nude and
torment you all night."
Jean Luc sighed as he stripped off his shirt and tossed it to her in
one graceful motion. She pulled it on and joined him in bed, each of
them seeking out the other in the center of the bed.
"Computer, lights out."
Beverly turned away from Jean Luc, allowing him to spoon behind her,
one leg over hers, holding her tightly against him.
As he lay there in the darkness, Jean Luc thanked the gods for sending
him Beverly to share his life. Whatever hard times they had faced, it
was this utter peace of lying next to her drifting off to sleep, that
made it all worth it.
"You know I love you," Jean Luc whispered next to her ear, more a
statement than a question.
"I know. I always have."

I wanted to post and say how much I truly enjoyed this vignette. It
was very moving. You did a wonderful job handling the characters of
Beverly and Jean-Luc. I'm can't wait to read more. Thanks for posting.
Hope
R/T - anything by DTroi57 (Robin) and QDestinyy are above awesome -
especially check out Robin's Enemy's Mask Trilogy and Backlash. QD's
lastest and greatest is Intimate Reticence.
Zlanna does wonderful R/T fic (oh so do many others <sigh>).
A great basic TNG story with a bit of R/T is Pamela's (nightowl230)
DREAMERS and MUSIC MAKERS - great novel length.
Terri and Narelle have done some terrific Riker fics (Will and Tom).
Full Circle, Double Jeopardy and Another Generation come off the top of
my head.
Irina Tellen (a newbie) wrote an outstanding abstract R/T fic that was
posted recently called Imzadi Unhinged that had a character from our
time melding with Troi's mind and getting a first hand experience of
Will. It was hilarious and very well done.
If you like W/T or basic Riker stuff - check out anything by Anna
(UNZADI).
I have just recently gotten into Odo/Kira stories but two great pieces
come to mind - To Heir Apparently and Suitable Desires by Ian Toldman.
They are original, spicy and loads of fun.
If you (or anyone) are interested in R/T fic, I can recommend lots of
writers, links and pages - but not all of them post to the NG <sigh>.
I don't get into TOS or VOY, so I cannot really recommend anything
there.
Hope this helps a little bit!!!!

<clears throat and cracks knuckles> Okay. :)
My favourite P/C (and possibly any genera) story has got to be "Part
Heaven" by Melissa Wilson, and can be found on her site at
http://missy.reimer.com/fanfic.html. In fact, all of her writing is
*superb*, and I recommend you check out the rest of her fanfic, as well as
her (non-fan) poetry.
"Illusion" by Allison Martens, already mentioned, is also terrific, and
yes, I bawled, too. :) I believe you can find it in the asc archive.
Sylvia3747's P/C stories, at members.aol.com/sylvia3747, are also excellent
-- she writes with a very distinctive, lovely tone, and never seems to lose
sight of the freshness and beauty of the relationship.
Outside of the P/C corner of the 'net, the best fanfic writer I've ever
come across, of any type, is Jane St. Clair. Her stories are at
http://www2.crosswinds.net/paris/~redshoes/jane.html and are absolutely
stunning. I cannot sing her praises loudly enough -- go see for yourself.
I particularly recommend "Softly", "Til Human Voices Wake Us", "Snow" and,
even tho' it's way way way outside the genera, "Carefully Everywhere
Descending". I swear, this woman could write Jake/Nog and I'd read it
eagerly. ;)
Two final sites most definitely worth a look-see are Rae Gunter's
Dimensions of Voyager at www.wantree.com.au/~hgunter/rae/dimen.htm
(probably very different from what you normally read, based on your list,
but most definitely worth it -- the lyric quality of some of her work is
wonderful) and Ellen Milholland's Drops of Me at
fly.to/visions.of.sugarplums (stories of all kinds here -- this writer just
gets better and better with time).
I'd love to hear your opinions on any or all of these, if you get a chance
-- really *good* fanfic is a true treasure! :)

[Disclaimer to two people who know who they are: No, you are *NOT* on here
because I know you, have battled Cheez Whiz with you and/or are chained to
you. You're here because your writing rocks my world, and I'm dead serious
on that. :)]
Melanie's To Tell the Truth series definitely deserves to be among the best
on the web. Unbelievably complex, you've got everything in there, more
plots and subplots than you can shake a stick at, and so beautifully written
I still re-read it to see the many different levels she writes at.
Both of these are a Must Read.

That's cause Cath is a riot and she can write them too! :-)

Anyone who hasn't - Read "A New Light". I almost cried!

"Kiss the Rain" was Greenwoman's. The other--not sure.

oh no--"Penumbra" was the episode. First in the Final Chapter arc.
Carly's story is called "Fire in the Blood". it can be found here:
http://www.50megs.com/rubycat/carly.html (first story listed on there,
since she hasn't finished that sappy Julian/Ezri thing she's working on
yet)

The rape thing had me a little creeped out at very first too. But it was
written very well. Oooh that guy Gorlem just SCARES me. But I'll shut up
now--wouldn't want to give away anything.

Oh God I hate those types of stories (the enjoy it thing) Puh-lease.
Especially Kira...I mean, c'mon! ya know? Now I might believe one where that
happened to her like something that would happen in the real world (as in she
doesn't get some kind of sick pleasure out of it).

"Softly" is good. And for her sole venture into P/T, I recommend "Sleepers
With Feet". Love it, love it, love it.

If it's D'A we're talking, I agree with Jennifer. But if you start with
"Iremission" and "Avalar", you better have a lot of time on your hands. Them
suckers are loooooong.
oh, D'A-laaaire, where are you at anyways?? ;-)
My personal D'A pick - "You Know". *sigh* I just love that story. :-)
Cheile
I agree - I still can't stop laughing when I think of her Vedek Assembly:)

Me too! My favorites are probably "Clarity", "A New Light", and "Stranger
than Fiction" which was extremely sweet:) How she can manage such beautiful
fic while maintaining the DS9 Encyclopedia, is beyond me!

I think "Glory" was Chrysa, now that I think about it. I could check the
PADD but I'm feeling to lazy:)

Lori Summers does very good Odo/Kira. Reann does outstanding Janeway/Paris. Liz
Griffin does Janeway/Torres.
For Picard/Vash, look for Whoa Nellie. Skazi and Kharmen Ghia for Sulu/Checkov.
Jonk for McCoy/Spock. Jungle Kitty for Kirk/Captain brandt.
Does that help?

And for some *really* stupendous Picard/Q, try BigMissSunbeam.
"This is impossible!" "I demand a recount!" "I demand a count of seconds!!"
And Vedek Kadfyl just keeps on snoring...... LMAO!!!!

Running my little webpages and writing's enough for me.

Too funny - now I'll be rereading and laughing and getting nothing done:)
She can be serious too, though - Soshal has an extremely original
background.

Neither could I - between my breakneck RL, a tiny webpage, my ASC duties, I
hardly even have time to write! It's very depressing:(
