Ok, I find it very odd that I am compelled to respond to Jess's post,
but here goes. This response is not directly to Jess, cause I know she is
well aware of the large K/S zine culture. But this is for newer TOS fans
who may be unaware of why there has been so little TOS or K/S on the net.
Like, Jess, I am very, very happy that there's been so much wonderful
K/S and TOS posted to the newsgroups lately. However, there is one fact
which makes K/S different from all other Treksmut couples. Namely that
K/S is a fandom that flourishes primarily in printed zine format. It's
been around for 20 years now, and it's still going strong. So, just
because it seems like there are just a few K/S stories on the net, please
don't assume that there's no K/S being written. The two formats are just
trying to work out how to live in peace together.<g>
And, more importantly, I would add that if you are interested in
writing K/S or TOS, I hope that you will actively seek out the zine
subculture. It is always in need of new writers, and you'll be amazed at
the wealth of history and the vast network of people found there.
Please feel free to e-mail me if you would like further information...
