"Well, Hawk," Pel said with a sound of disappointment in her voice.
"It looks like you're fit to resume your duties. I guess my old
recipe helped."
"It sure did," Hawk said, holding back his opinion of how repulsive
the strange brew was. Not to mention the live snails...
"You're still a little pale, though," Pel said. "I want you to try
not exerting yourself too much. No more head-butting the bulkheads."
"Aye, aye Doc," Hawk said with a grin. "If I get any dizzy spells, I'll
call you." He jumped off the biobed and headed out the door, relieved
to be out of the 'Maquis de Pel's' little sanctum.
"Mak'shi, I want you to keep an eye on things here," Pel told her
assistant.
"Sure thing, Pel," the young Andorian woman answered. Seeing a sadistic
gleam in her chief's eyes, she added, "I severything alright?"
"Oh, yes," Pel said. "I just have a wayward patient to round up now that
he's back aboard." Taking a medical tricorder, she headed out of the
Sickbay.
*Poor Lt Rogers,* Mak'shi thought.
Pel entered the turbolift, said "Bridge," and waited as it took her to
her 'prey'. She smiled at the thought of getting Nick back in
Sickbay. His 'escape' attempts were always so entertaining.
<< Dr Pel,>> came Capt Lloyd's voice from her comm-badge.
The turbolift doors opened to the Bridge and Pel stepped out.
"Yes, Captain?" the CMO asked as she walked towards him, glancing at
Nick at his station. Cmdr Vental was speaking with him.
"Are you this quick on house calls, Doctor?" asked Lloyd, turning to the
CMO.
"My service in the Klingon Fleet taught me never to keep the Captain
waiting, sir," Pel said. She spoke with more tolerance in her voice
than she had to him in Sickbay. This was HIS domain.
"Maybe we can discuss your past CO's methods of persuasion sometime,
Doctor," Lloyd said with a slight smile to the Bridge officers. "For
now, we've reestablished communications with our away team and they've
asked for your assistance..."
"Captain, away team hailing us!" interrupted Nick.
"Put it on speakers, Mr Rogers!" said the Captain.
