SD: 90705.1445
MD: -16.1300
SCENE: SB ALPHA - Deck 18 Main Conference Room

*** NOTE: MD -16 is to reflect two days for debriefing team ALPHA, and the
standard two-week post-mission leave, RP time of course. This should help
the timeline as things are in a bit of 'time-limbo now.

At MD -14, all ALPHA will be on leave (i.e., RP time for PC development stuff,
exploring the Starbase, interacting with other team-mates, or whatever you choose.)

Hope this clears the fog a bit.

*** END NOTE (Now back to your regularly scheduled Post...)

Johan rose to stretch, manoeuvring to the replicator,

"Hot mint coffee, with a shot of brandy" ordered Captain Bauer. Moments later
his favourite beverage sparkled into existence. Carefully removing the cup and saucer
from the unit, Johan gave it a few brisk stirs with the spoon, causing small puffs of
aromatic steam to escape. He took a cautious sip, as brown liquid nearly filled to the
rim to overflowing capacity.

"Commander, may I get you something to drink?" Johan inquired from his XO.

"Perhaps some Tirelliean Water," responded K'weee Hwichk. Johan did a slight double
take, but didn't let his mild surprise show, for the Delphine rarely drank anything.
Johan called up K'weee's water, wondering if the Commander ever indulged himself in
spirits? The icy-cool Tirelliean water formed, it's usual light effervescent mist
emanating from the glass of the sweet tasting refreshment. MAny 'fleet officers had
begun carrying bottles of Tirelliean water around with them. A perculiar oddity, but
one Johan had not become part of, quite yet.

Johan crossed the conference room, sizeable enough to accommodate ALPHA, RHO, and OMEGA
teams simultaneously. Passing the length of the table, Bauer lay his drink down, and
seated himself across from the XO. Handing the water to K'weee, Johan gave the coffee
another stir before taking another sip. Johan eyed RADM Selvar's undisturbed chair beside
them at the head of the table.

At Hwichk's suggestion the seat was to remain undisturbed, and Johan added to the sentiment
by draping the Admiral's uniform jacket across the chair's back, as a permanent placeholder
for the revered Flag officer. Johan reached out and brushed a bit of lint from the pair
of boxed pips upon the jacket's collar.

"Captain, I asked if your coffee was to hot?" said Cdr. . Hwichk. Johan snapped back from
his daydreaming,

"Oh. I apologise Commander. My mind was wandering." Joahn straightened his own jacket,
regaining his composure.

"Understandable, Sir." said the XO. "I was thinking..." K'weee halted, as both faced
the opening conference room doors. Lieutenant Commander Ion Steiner stepped into the
room, armed with a few PADDs. Eyeing his two commanding officers, Ion proceeded to the
table, and came to attention,

"Captain, Commander," he greeted them, which they did in turn. Bauer waved him at-ease
and K'weee gestured to the chair beside his, which Ion slid into. Johan regarded the
ALPHA Legation Commander for a moment. While he respected the younger man, they operated
in a totally different style. All of the years Johan had dealt with Starfleet's brass
had made him prefer to operate his command in a much more informal style. Steiner
however preferred the by-the-book, spit and polish routine. Ion somewhat reminded Bauer
of a 'fleet Marine he had met a few years ago. He thought for a moment to recall the
man's name... Oh yes, it was Major Hofi.

"Looking forward to your down-time, Mr. Steiner?" asked Kweee.

"Yes, Sir." answered Ion. "I plan on seeing some of the sights in Boston, perhaps
go sailing along the coast." K'weee donned the Delphine version of a smile at the
prospect of an ocean voyage. Angosia was quite a dry planet, thought not to the
degree of Vulcan. Nautical pleasure craft were unheard of the Steiner's' people.

"Actually, next week our Ens. Riley has offered to introduce me to the world of golf.
I've never played, and Mr. Riley seems to be an avid player."

"I didn't know our industrious Ensign played?" commented K'weee. Bauer shook his head,

"Neither did I." Turning their attention back to the business at hand, Ion handed a
PADD to each of his CO's.

"My summary report on Tuykaid, along with my logs." said Ion. The report was a summary
of all team members individual reports and activities, and a synopsis of the mission's
outcome. As customary, each team member submitted their reports to Steiner, but
presented their duty logs when debriefed. Later K'weee and Bauer would compile the
entire teams' reports and duty logs, and submit the final report to RADM Miller's
office and the Chief Counsel at the Federation Diplomatic Corps. Ion continued as the
two scanned the report,

"Considering all the 'events' that transpired, I'm still glad to have the Tuykai people
as a part of the Federation, even on a limited basis." said Steiner.

"Associate membership will allow them everything except voting rights in the Council and
possible seats on the Security council." said K'weee, Everyone nodded in agreement.

"I see Chancellor Dorovian plans to apply for full membership in one year," read Bauer.

"Yes, Sir." replied Ion. "That's equal to about ten months. Perhaps the programs in
social education the Chancellor is implementing will take effect by then." said Ion.

"Of course, as Associate members, our prospects for constructing that outpost in the
Tuykaid system hit the 'brick wall'" said K'weee. Everyone laughed a bit, Bauer caught
the Delphine's eyes, giving an approving nod. In the past few months, K'weee had quickly
adapted to Bauer's command style.

"The only issue I see here, Commander is Lt. Robicheaux's use of force..." said Bauer.
Ion and K'weee flipped to the proper page.

"Hmmm. Purely in self-defence though." said Ion in defence of Conrad. "I'm confident
Mr. Robicheaux made the best decision in a difficult situation. I'm sure I would
have responded likewise." said Steiner. Ion knew for the most part Conrad had
put his formidable stature to good use in lieu of the Tuykaid laser pistol.

Bauer caught K'weee's gaze to the undisturbed chair, but decided to let the matter drop,

"Very well, Commander Steiner. I'm satisfied with the issue." Perhaps K'weee would
mention something later, but for now Johan would let it rest. Over the next hour,
the trio covered several issues of the mission, each taking notes on ideas, suggestions,
and concerns, which Ion would relay to the TEAM.

When finished, K'weee called up the mail server on the PADD and CC'ed a copy of Ion's
report to his and Bauer's consoles, then returned the PADDs to Steiner.

"That wraps up your part, Commander." said K'weee. "We'll move on to the next person
so everyone can start down-time as soon as possible." Ion rose from his chair,
gathering his belongings, stood beside the table. Johan looked up from the table console,

"Dismissed, of course Mr. Steiner." Johan waved his off, but the Legation Commander stood
his ground,

"Sirs," said Ion. "If I may, I was wondering if there was any word on our next
assignment?" asked Ion. K'weee took on a strange look upon his face, one Ion could not
distinguish, but Bauer merely laughed a bit.

"Now, Mr. Steiner, you know the regulations. You have two weeks of down-time awaiting
you. Now go enjoy it..." said Bauer. "And that's an ORDER, Mr." Ion smiled, a sight
Bauer had not observed in a while. Though not actually 'carved' into the 'fleet regs.,
Selvar had long ago instituted the policy of keeping mission details from the teams
until they had completed their downtime. While every CO appreciates dedication,
Selvar realised the need for the two weeks, and didn't want someone spending it
in research or preparation for an upcoming mission. * Besides, * thought Bauer.
* I still have to convince OLD MAN Miller to give MGEN Tollinger's request the
green light, * a daunting task in itself, though Bauer knew Miller had pleasant
working relationships with the 'Fleet Marines, especially SFFRT-7.

"Aye aye, Captain. Orders received and understood." With a grin, Ion spun and
departed for 'Bean-town'.

Just putting the Tuykaid mission to rest. Consider yourselves on leave, as we're
not going to drag the debriefing out to individual team members. If you have any
questions or concerns, about the prior mission, just ask. Warning, though. If
you RP the questions to Bauer, he will most likely chase you out to your down-time. <BG>

Cheers!
Mike
