What I cannot believe is that not a single commentator, nor analyst on
ITV`s "prized" team commentated on how poorly Alan Shearer Played. As a
team we carried Shearer on his name alone. He was unable to break free from
the Romanians excellent man-marking.
Why was there also no mention of Hoddle`s lack of initiative to use his
subs during the latter stages of the game. Michael Owen came on with 19
mins of normal time to go... scored a goal and hit the post. Just think
what he could have done if he had come on with half an hour to go.
Why are these key points not being raised ?
And on one last point, after seeing our national team loose, the last thing
we need is some funny(or not so funny) sketch before the ad break, (which
is irritating enough) depicting David Seaman clutching his groin.
Any comments from fellow English fans ???

He also made another blunder when he berated Hadji (sp?) for knocking in
about six skyward thirty yarders in the first fifteen minutes and said
'doesn't he realise how good a goalkeeper Seaman is?' (I paraphrase)
Where did Rumania's second goal-bound shot go? Through Seaman's legs...
A player of excellence, a manager of some talent, but he should *not* be
allowed to commentate in the world cup.
He was biased and patronising to the Romanians the whole game. *They* were
the seeded team, not England, and he should have showed more respect than
the crass England-versus-Jonny-foreigner crap that he spouted for much of
the game.

That's funny enough. Romania was the favorite of many to win the
group not England.
